VBO piping pro issues

Hello all
can some one help me with the following:
I have the pro version of VBO piping and when i use it, it works with no issues happy days. When i save the model and then reopen most of the pipework disappears and im left with the line work only. It has happened a few times now.

It may be that the a vailidity check is deleting tiny faces. I haven't used that extension before. Is there an option to set the number of sides? If so, what are you using for that? what is the radius of the pipe? How many segments in the arcs of the path? What is their radius?
