@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich. Now I know that I can share the link with Fredo6 on the Animator thread so he can download the file and look at it (to hopefully identify the problem I have been having trying to generate a video). You might also try generating an Animator video and see what results you get.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

I have found that the most sure way to make section cuts behave is to make a layer called "sectioncuts" and place your section planes on that layer. Also make a style called "sections on" that has sections active and showing. Now when you make your scene you just make sure the section cut layer is off and use the "section on" stlye. you do this for each scene with the appropriete section plane active and be sure to hit update when its all set. TIG's method works extremely well. I've used it to create elements for various grilles. I can make a grille of any dimension quite rapidly with just the three components. [image: 5979597868_808f4b6fcc.jpg]

if anyone is interested I found another method. This will only work if you have 3dsmax Basically you must bake the texture in 3dsmax but obviously don't have any lighting or shadows checked when you do so This will generate a texture file. Export the 3d model to .dae then open deep exploration and re apply the texture to the model, you wont need to re size just that when you export for some reason it doesn't carry the texture with it. Then export to sketchup and you then are free to delete whatever mesh you have in the middle without ruining your texture. The downside to this is when the texture is baked it is severely degraded, im still looking for ways to fix it. [image: Sydney-1.jpg]

Thanks a lot Chris, it worked like a charm. Do you have more advices for similar situations? Are you aware of any plugin for recreating at least some of the bridging tools you find (for instance) in Max? By the way, thanks for your plugins

An Image is just like another group or instance so as it's no part of the current context it is shown without textures/image...

I don't mind the 'harsh' comments at all! Like this i know the problem is at the side of AutoCAD and not at the side of Sketchup!! Thx all! Btw Thomthom, that cleanup works excellent!

Hold arrow keys to adjust radius. Press up+down to reverse displacement vector. See here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/68663595/Artisan-Quick-Reference

With 1 000 000 faces you'll have a sluggish model regardless of hardware spec. When I get very large models like that I often export parts into components and work on the smaller parts, then reload into the main large file. Also, if you have vegetation geometry with lots of polygons, either replace them with lighter geometry, or at least put them on a layer you can turn off while modelling.

I've always thought foot petals would be the trick. Then maybe the whole desk-keyboard moves in and out like airplane controls.

That does not work for me as I would need to type a semicolon ; (instead of the comma) to separate the values and it involves using Ctrl as a mod key. For the same reason, I cannot move either to relative or absolute co-ordinates. The SU Team did not think of things like this when designing SU. About 2/3 of the world's population cannot use these commands I would risk to say.

Hi folks. Or import the chair in the other design using File Menu --> Import. Choose skp as file type. Just ideas.
