    V8.0 is released https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=2Dtools Or via the ExtensionStore dialog. It fixes a glitch with v2026 whereby some MAC users could not get the TAB key press/up to work to open dialogs in some tools, and some PC users had to press/up 4 times to make TAB work. But <=2025 users had no issues. I've now improved the onKeyUp methods to optimize TAB use in v2026, but it can still be flaky for some users. including me needing 4x press/up! So as an additional option I've added one press/up on the Shift key which will also open the dialogs, in certain tools like LineStyle and Hatching. The Help pages explain this dialog opening more fully. Please try and report back issues...

    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    if anyone is interested I found another method. This will only work if you have 3dsmax Basically you must bake the texture in 3dsmax but obviously don't have any lighting or shadows checked when you do so This will generate a texture file. Export the 3d model to .dae then open deep exploration and re apply the texture to the model, you wont need to re size just that when you export for some reason it doesn't carry the texture with it. Then export to sketchup and you then are free to delete whatever mesh you have in the middle without ruining your texture. The downside to this is when the texture is baked it is severely degraded, im still looking for ways to fix it. [image: Sydney-1.jpg]

    Thanks a lot Chris, it worked like a charm. Do you have more advices for similar situations? Are you aware of any plugin for recreating at least some of the bridging tools you find (for instance) in Max? By the way, thanks for your plugins

    I don't mind the 'harsh' comments at all! Like this i know the problem is at the side of AutoCAD and not at the side of Sketchup!! Thx all! Btw Thomthom, that cleanup works excellent!

    With 1 000 000 faces you'll have a sluggish model regardless of hardware spec. When I get very large models like that I often export parts into components and work on the smaller parts, then reload into the main large file. Also, if you have vegetation geometry with lots of polygons, either replace them with lighter geometry, or at least put them on a layer you can turn off while modelling.

    That does not work for me as I would need to type a semicolon ; (instead of the comma) to separate the values and it involves using Ctrl as a mod key. For the same reason, I cannot move either to relative or absolute co-ordinates. The SU Team did not think of things like this when designing SU. About 2/3 of the world's population cannot use these commands I would risk to say.

    Group Axis in SU8 Problem

    I think I've discovered my problem. The models I've been working on were created in SU6 and SU7. Any groups that were twisted after creation have their group axis out of whack when edited in SU8. Thanks for the input.

    I've got Windows 7 on my Mac too. It a good operating system, much better than XP (but of not as good, as OSX of course!) 8 gigs is plenty, but if someone is happy to pay for you to go to 16 gigs, go for it! However, watch out for the damn Shockwave Flash plug in. It has a memory leak in it, and if you have a lot of ram, it will eat it if you are running a browser (like Safari or Firefox). Therefore it's wise to get the "Click to Flash" plugin installed to halt Flash in its tracks. I'm pleased your office colleagues had a good experience. I had a very similar experience too. They thought the computer was a hard drive!!! There was complete disbelief when I had it up and running! Tom

    Export .obj from Rhino Import .obj to SketchUp using plugin Rhino's .obj exporter is the most robust around so pay attention to export options.
