    • RE: Specs to run sketchup smoothly?

I tend to keep all the effects down while modelling.I switch them on,only when needed. Both the edges and faces exceeds the 1000000+.The annoying part is mostly the opening and closing part of large projects.Sometimes it just freezes and crashes.I doubt its the impact of the hard drive πŸ˜•

    • Specs to run sketchup smoothly?

      Hi,
I would like some help with you guys,May i know what specs should run sketchup smoothly? That is without much lags, and minimizing the huge time to save, open and close a sketchup file?I actually work with large masterplans and sometimes with large scale landscaping areas. The file range varies most of the time around 80 to a hundred MBs.I'm pretty amazed as i have a rather high spec workstation and the opening and closing time of the file just drives me crazy.I own a dell optiplex 990,with an i7 processor,8 GB RAM,and a 1GB Graphic card. Some landscape architects around here may know what i'm talking about.I understand that grouping and layering components will reduce the lag,i always work like this but still i get a hard time with huge files.

      Thanks guys.
