Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Nifty, thanks Jim. Do you mean the script could be adapted to link the numbers to the component? That would be beyond me at the moment.

If you just want to create spiral stairs, have a look at this one witch can also screw components: http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/rld/plugin_details.php?id=357 http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15784#p240238

Not all of us have appple quick time to run untitled.mov I did this gif as a aid to your posted format, Dave Most of the time I think Apple has a better video output I started with apple long ago but never made it to the mac so I dont know all the in and outs of is Mac OS Now answering Peter's question from a pc point of view? I have 3 thoughts to add 1} I think, in his case, it maybe the 3d setting of the graph card, if his frame is 10 fps and above for a video 1032 x 774. [image: oJXp_pic_0077.jpg] 2) or he may not have the right video grabber or using the right movie format for getting a constant 10fps and above. [image: SZvS_pic_0079.jpg] 3) or if its random and drop frame when he records his machine maybe doing things in the background Task Manager Change your SU or Recorder, set priority, to high or real time [image: pi6T_pic_0080.jpg]

Different operating system. Jason is showing the Materials window on a Windows machine. On Mac they use the native OS-supplied colors window doodad. As to the material showing as a flat color, you must be in shaded face style instead of shaded with Textures. Change that under the view menu orin the Styles Edit tab and you should see it.

Now that really is weird. It must be a bug. Thanks Jim, I never thought of importing to Layer0...but see no logical reason why that should make any difference.

I do not exactly know how network licenses work at the moment but you cannot have SU free and Pro installed on the same computer. They are practically the same program - with some additional tools for the Pro version. So I guess it would be a tedious workflow keeping to install/uninstall the two versions. Previously, if there was no available license on the network (or even single installation of the Pro version), it fell back to the free version making it an ideal tool for such offices as they only needed to buy a few seats. I guess this is exactly why they changed this behaviour - to encourage sales...

Hi Chris! Absolutely no problems with it now, since I've been matching the start/end positions, its working absolutly fine. The plug-in is great and is saving me a whole load of time/calculations... a great bit of work there Chris Many thanks for the response - I fear it was my lack of reading on the plug-in that caused the problem in the first place being the impatient person that I am. Deadlines wait for no man (or woman). All the best, Matt.

Thanks Dave. This is what I did try, and I think it betters the effect for the most part. I don't move the sliders all the way to the ends as the few colors in the model begin to look strange.

Adding to wishlist - Make Layout and SketchUp file icons different so I'm not continually opening one thinking it's the other.

Reinstall again ("repair installation"). It seems for whatever reason, the first install of Layout 3.0.16846 doesn't update the version number.

Jeff, Thanks a bunch! I transferred the old textures to the new computer @ User--Library--Application Support--Google Sketchup (#)--SketchUp--Materials, and that worked great.

Huh! I've created plenty of components on faces before, but since I don't have to change axis very often I guess I just never noticed this before. Good info, thanks

Thanks for the info and links, I will continue to look through the warehouse and some manufactures. I guess if I found one close I could just modify them.

@mitcorb said: Side comment: What I greatly dislike about Autocad is the inclusion of the zooms and pans in the history/memory stack. As far as I know, you cannot exclude this completely. I think SketchUp is unusual in this regard in that it's Undo and Redo function addresses changes to the model, not changes to the viewing position. Which is much, much better than the way AutoCAD handles it.

After trying this again, yes, it can be horrible. I set the AA to (4) as I had to give a presentation on a house model (no entourage or interior). It showed pretty well, and I actually accomplished many modifications on screen (a projection setup at the meeting) but it started the beachball spinning just to select an edge. I have tried just doing my modelling on this setting and sometimes it is OK but others it just sucks or crashes. I can only blame it on this (and my weak computer perhaps).
