    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    Reload only works on components. So save the contents of a file as a component. A component doesn't save views styles etc, only entities.

    All compression/decompression tools will have a settings menu, in which you change which file-types it 'opens'... I quote from WinRAR's FAQs: @unknownuser said: If WinRAR was associated with archives during installation (the default installation option), the archive will be opened in WinRAR. You also may associate WinRAR with archives after installation using the Integration settings dialog... Opening a .JAR file in something rather than Java means that it hasn't executed properly, so ImageTrimmer will fail. But you should be able to have WinRAR installed and ImageTrimmer working with its .JAR files through Java - but you must set WinRAR's file-associations to ignore .JAR files...

    It's a VERY old script from @Last It's in the PluginStore - together with parametric_grid... https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=parametric By now they are really 'example' code... And therefore unlikely to work perfectly in newer versions...

    None of the Software seems to solve my issue. I am running latest Windows 10 and Latest Sketchup 2020.2. Have tried all the tricks available on net you tube etc. But my sketchup thumbnails are not visible. XnView, or Latest Mystic Thumbs is also not helping. I could see only thumbnails of latest downloads, which are skp 2020 version. Any skp file which is older is not visible. can someone help please? many thanks

    Baz, I had a similar experience related to the replacement of OR lights and the addition of some articulated equipment booms. The vendor showed a floor plan with circles drawn to show the area the equipment could cover but not the volume of space the equipment would consume in the room. As it turned out, the proposed placement of the equipment and where it mounted on the ceiling meant that it couldn't be used in the primary location. If the boom was positioned where they wanted it during use, they couldn't get the patient in the room. And it couldn't be place on the other side of the table to allow the patient to come in because they'd have to take the equipment over the patient once they were on the table and that is prohibited. The vendor wasn't happy because they had to go back and rework things and the project manager was at first upset because of the delay in the project and the need to schedule another meeting. She figured out though that it saved the hospital a pile of money, though.

    Thanks for the reply! As an update, I bought the Mac mini and currently have it connected to 3 x 4k displays. Looking at the GPU usage graphs, I've been able to reach about 80% of the limit of the Integrated UHD 630 with SketchUp alone, and using maximum texture sizes. The only thing that's maxed out the GPU so far has been the screensaver I use. I can orbit large models easily, but there's a slight delay when I stop orbiting, and before the textures load. It doesn't orbit quickly with the textures still visible - it changes to solid colours. For the moment, I'm going to keep with the integrated graphics as this computer seems almost silent, but if I decide to buy an eGPU, I'll update this thread to show the comparisons. This is with the 2018 i7 Mac mini, 6 core, and 64GB Ram - running SketchUp and Layout 2020

    Yes, it could be slow if each of the 1000 components is unique although they could all be selected quickly if they were isolated from the rest of the model with proper use of tags/layers, then they could all be replaced in one step with Replace Selected.

    File size isn't the only indicator of model complexity. The delay could be caused by a number of different things in the model. Complex shadows, hi res images or textures, some style setting, etc. What is the graphics card? Has there been a recent change to the graphics drivers? This is common with Windows updates.

    If the pieces are > 8' long then you must manually edit those SketchUp components and split them into several parts. You'd have to do it to the DXF files too [in CAD] ?? There's nothing that's perfect - as far as I know ? Does CutListOptomizer do it [orthogonal?] ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbfnTOzh7_4 https://www.mynesting.com/ might process DXFs of the parts ? https://www.maxcutsoftware.com/ ?? I'd expect that some CNC software does that optimizing as a later step... But these will assume orthogonal too ? With complex curved shapes like your ribs, then manually locating and rotating them onto a simple 4x8' sheet 'template' underlay component, locked in place, is still likely to be your best solution...
