    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

I can think of a couple of possibilities: When you created your new scene, did you click on the Update scene button? When you added the new scene and moved the camera, if you do not click the Update Scene button, it will revert back to the original scene settings when you navigate from scene to scene What are you clicking to navigate the scenes? If you click on the scene tab, it should animate from one scene to the next (again assuming you clicked the Update Scene button when you created the scene). If you click on the scene name in the Scene dropdown list, you will continue to see the last scene because you are really not going to that scene you are only navigating through the scene list. Hope this helps you.

    did you have installed the latest SUP v8 M5 version? did you have the Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 required by SU v8 installed? Systems Requirements of SU v8 did not covered Win 8+.

    SU uses an older UVQ mapping method that isn't really the norm these days.

    2D exports only the ProfileEdges and SectionCutEdges. I was hoping that there was a way to export the original layers.

    Set 3d Text default font?

    I just now looked at it on my Mac with SU2015. The last set font choice is retained for each activation of the 3D Text tool and it is even retained when SU is closed/quit and restarted. It appears that an answer was found sometime between 2011 and the release of SU2015. I don't know in which version it changed. What version of SketchUp are you using? It would be helpful if you completed your profile.

Everything will work ok but section cut faces won't be perfect... You can just ignore warnings in model info.

When it's in OK, you can [re]orient the faces consistently outwards, and finally Scale down in 2 steps - 0.1 and 0.01 to achieve the 1\1000 th reduction... The units are in mm, I did makes sure the import happens with correct scale and I did cross checked the measurements and they are correct, both in AutoCAD and in Sketchup. But I will give it a shot by increasing the scale to see if I can avoid that. Thank you!

    Well can you make a rectangle and pushpull it and make a group, Then make the next rectangle etc. Grouping the drawn geometry as you go? The selectiontoys idea only works if you are trying to separate faces from misc. edges without faces--which I thought you meant.

    FBX Export doesnt export textures

    Seems to be a saving to network thing. Exporting to my desktop worked. Hmmm. Simlab worked because it saves the maps to a location in your plugins folder. The other nice thing about Simlab is that when you import the FBX, each object is its own in MAX and not a single group with a multisub material applied. Not sure of the advantage/disadvantage though. Just testing a SU to Max workflow that would allow for a linked file.
