Greetings, Is there any possibility to add bum, normal map (edit difuse) to vrmesh materials in SU? I have got some vrmesh component in SU and I would like to add some visual value to them. Thank you in advance. PS Or should I adjust all material setting to a component before converting it into vrmesh?

Do you know if there are any plans for vray to make the rendering engine run on the GPU?

Isnt the point of a render farm, to be able to handle the high res / high quality stuff? Your settings dont seem too crazy to me. Pretty normal for a final render. What kind of farm is it? You're rendering out a 14,000 pixel wide image so the expectation should be that this will take a good amount of time.

Reload defaults and try to setup rendering again. Make sure you have the latest release.

Why would you ever manipulate a texture outside of the engine? Is that what you are suggesting? You should never have to correct them outside of your engine, my understanding is that you have to tell the engine to correct them because VRay is using 1.0 Gamma. I just read this tutorial and it is all starting to make more sense to me. http://www.aversis.be/tutorials/vray/vray-20-gamma-linear-workflow_01-old.htm Based on what is being said here, my guess would be that you should NOT tick those on as long as you have Input Gamma set to 2.2. Although maybe you need to tick them on for Correct RGB? I guess it might be worth a couple of test renders with it on and with it off. If you test it, post your results. I just have never understood it. All I know is that if I export to EXR and use Linear mapping with clamping turned off, I can get what I need from Photoshop as far as correcting lighting goes.

I'm not sure if Chaos allows you to transfer your license like that. Contact a reseller and buy through them.

Try sub-dividing your grassy faces into smaller sections, this will help with displacement issues.

Something is messed in V-Ray Options or Material Editor settings. Save your settings first, then go back to the V-Ray default settings and try to render with Override Materials checked and unchecked then. If there is a problem in both you will have to introduce your settings one by one to see which option causes the problem. There is no way around it, I guess.

1 - Could be an old vismat created with an older version 2- the vismat might be referencing an external texture that is not on your machine, look into the maps and see if they are pointing in the right direction.

@vigge50 said: @tedvitale_cg said: It would definitely be possible. You would have to create an "x-ray" style equivalent material in V-Ray and apply it to the component you are trying to highlight to have the effect your looking for. Try the material I've created and attached. Its going to render a bit more slowly, but it should work for what you are trying. I maybe wasn't clear enough but I would like to use X-Ray one everything except the componen I want to highlight so that it's easier to see. It would be a lot of work if I would have to change all other material in the model to be X-Ray. So you would need to apply this "xray style" material to everything but the object you would want rendered.

You have to use TexMix material in the Diffuse slot. Choose Color A slot to load the first texture and Color B slot to load the second texture. Blend them using Color Mix with the alpha texture loaded in Mix map slot. That's it.

the problem can be by some things: improper geometry in one or more of your components, improper materials or the resolution and your configuration. improper geometry - Sometimes vray can't triangulate the surface. Check your geometry with solid ispector, solid solver or manually. Materials - Look your vray progress window. In the progress you will see which materials load fast, which slow, other don't load. For those that load slow, you can reduct the resolution and dpi of textures (both of diffuse, bump and displacement). For materials that vray freeze trying loading them, you must change them. It's difficult to find which material freeze exacte, because vray show you only treated materials, so you leave loaded materials and try to repair the others. The resolution can be a problem too. With my Radeon HD6850 and phoenom II x4, I have a problem last two months. There had a windows update probably and I have no updated catalyst, because AMD do not support catalyst any more. So the maximum of resolution of exterior render of complicated models its 1024x768 for me.

Hi, I thought I should post an update. In the end I have found that the best and fastest way to map the textures properly is with the help of SketchUV plug-in from Whaat, available at https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/sketchuv and that in case it gets complicated, combining the fix from Rob rspierenburg mentioned above in this same thread does wonders. So a two-level solution for the problem, depending on the disaster grade that your geometry brings to the material Hope it helps, God knows I have been bugged by this one... RL.

Looks like you've got the demo version. This doesn't render larger... So for bigger output (and losing the watermark) you have to buy it. Regards,
