Well, so that's great. I'll try it in a few models.
Thanks!

Hi.
Does anybody know if it's possible to use Normal maps in VRay for SketchUp? It's easy to donwload materials that come with a Normal Map, but VRayForSketchUp doesn't have a specific slot for this type of image. As it's a variation of the bump map, will it work if it's applied in the Bump Slot? Did anybody tried this?
Thanks!
Ok, ok. It seems to be a very nice render, but I have some answers before trying it. As a VRay user, I just wanna know if it's worthy spending some (precious) time to study that new render.
Well, I'm really interested in an alternative to VRay, faster and just as good as the ASGVis stuff, but I'm not encouraged to change the way of thinking in rendering technics, unless it's really nice and worthy doing. Is it?
Thanks, Thomas.
I was starting to think that my intelligence was not that reliable... But, thanks God, as you said, it looks like a bug. Hope they fix it soon, 'cause I consider that using noise is usually pretty much easier than creating or finding good bitmaps.
Yeah, I'm using the old one. Unfortunatelly, I couldn't upgrade it yet.
Anyway, the answer is yes and no. I tried the preview, didn't change anything. I tried to render, and didn't change anything also. Is it something weird? And as you asked, upgrading would be a solution? Is the new version more reliable?
Ok. I know how to control the variables (size, amplitude, etc). My doubt is about the UVW Parameters. It conforms to the coordinates of the SU material. Ok. But if I'm not using a linked material? The thing is that when you change the Repeat value, for example, nothing happens to the material.
When you edit the noise map in 3D Max, you can obtain lines instead of dots. If you use it as a bump map and insert values like 8 vertically and 1 horizontally, the dots get stretched, so you can simulate brushed metal materials. That's what I can't get in VRay for SketchUp. Is it a limitation of the software? What I can see, so far, is that no matter what value you put in the UVW Transform coordinates, the noise always look as dots.
Is there a way to do this, or it's only possible using bitmaps?
Thanks.
Hi,
I've been searching for an answer, for sometime, but without success. I hope someone can help me. Why does the UVW Transform (Repeat / Offset) parameteres of the Noise map simply don't take effect when changed, in VRay for SketchUp?
I'm trying to stretch the Noise map avaiable in VRay, to simulate brushed metal, for example. In Mental Ray (3D Max), it's quite simple. Just change the value, and the noise gets stretched.
On the other hand, in VRay it's impossible! Does anyone know how to control the Noise map in VRay for SketchUp? Or, if it's not possible, how does the tiling of Noise (repeat) affect the material? It needs to be mapped in SketchUp, to take effect?
Well, any answers will be of great help!
Thanks!
