Hi there! I am trying to apply materials on a model I created but when I render it there is no texture. I am importing vismats I downloaded and I can play around with the settings but when it comes to the rendering all that changes is the colour/glossiness/reflectiveness I have applied. I have been looking for a couple of days to try and fix this but I dont know what to do 😞

You do need to 'link' the SketchUp and renderer's materials...

        Try making a simple box.
        Apply textured materials.
        Now render that.
        Any luck ?

Perhaps your more complex model's faces are 'reversed' - with materials on their 'backs' they will not render.

To see this, take the simple box model and select the faces and context-menu > reverse... to flip the faces.
        Apply textured materials.
        Render that.
        Blank faces ?

Hi TIG, thanks for the reply!

I first apply a sketchup material and when I render that its fine, but I want to use vray materials, and so once I apply the sketchup material, in the material editor I import the vismat to replace it and thats the texture that does not render 😞

Did you do my face orientation check ?
To see that View > Monochrome mode and use a Style with a distinctive back-face color.
If you see those then be worried...

I rendered the faces when reversed and the material was not visible, but currently the faces are not reveresed. Could I link a picture to show you the problem I am having? Thanks for the help πŸ˜„

1 - Could be an old vismat created with an older version
2- the vismat might be referencing an external texture that is not on your machine, look into the maps and see if they are pointing in the right direction.
