Thanks for posting that, W-B. I'd forgotten I made that fix back when it was first brought up.

I am having the same problem. It is driving me crazy. I want to rename a unique component, don't even get to write anything, just click on the Definition Name field and it pops the dreadded message.

I also discovered that it pops up only the first time you hit the Definition Name field. If you deselect and reselect the same component, go to Def.Name field, it will not show the warning.

Vray for SketchUp is a known weak link. SketchUp 2013 on Mac has been very stable for me, too. Try disabling the Vray plugin and work with SketchUp for awhile. See how it goes.

Okay I think I've resolved the issue, the selecting is not 100% but after installing a new APU driver from DELL I am able to use the select tool quite a bit better than before!

You probably don't need to uninstall and reinstall SketchUp.

I have pro 2013 and have successfully loaded the toolbar and it seems to work though I have not tried all of the functionality yet. I do not want to change the default settings untill I understand something, hopefully developers are watching this thread.

I have imported a scene from google maps and with it the geolocation of the project (prior to installing the north angle toolbar). On google maps north is always straight up. When I use the north arrow to display the north angle it is around 27 deg off. This could not be the magnetic declination difference since it is only 8.8deg for this area. How does the default north arrow calculate the default position if not from the geolocation? I have moved the default axis many times while modeling, could this have caused the confusion? Is there a way to get the north arrow to snap back to the geolocation?

Aha! Yes, it is reasonably easy to cause a string to appear at the right hand end of the menu bar. It's an option on the login settings. Also, your system definitely indicates Mountain Lion (10.8.5). Nothing seems excessively obsolete on your reported hardware, so it seems likely to me that you are right: the issue is with Podium not liking your graphics card or perhaps simply needing more hardware resources for a model as complex as you are trying to render. I am not a Podium user, so I can't offer any insight about that but perhaps another sketchUcation member will chime in...

Are you using V-Ray? I disabled VR and it does seem to speed things up in regards to array copies,

If you have not upgraded to the latest version of 2013 you could be suffering from the over-docking toolbars mess.
The newer versions of 2013 fixed this early glitch.

What happens is the toolbar activates but it's docked in the topbar underneath some other toolbar[s].
Dragging all of these off so they float, then docking them as desired will fix it.

If this is not the case... have you being using two monitors or changed screen resolution.
This can sometimes cause toolbars to appear 'off-screen'...
You can try using the Toolbar dialog's Reset on that just that toolbar ?

Also try removing all plugins and restarting.

Having a similar problem here. It started while trying to draw a triangle onto a flat surface to copy/flip/paste as the basis of a dormer on a house. After laying out the coordinates with Tape Tool, I drew out the first right triangle. The guides shifted as though it was slightly under the surface, and fazed in and out as I navigated. When I attempted to copy, the entire surface was highlighted. This is an enclosed geometry issue. I sent all layers to the default and attempted again to confirm. Same problem. I then noticed that the guide was shifting not just in and out of view, but to the left and right of the line drawn onto the guide.

The issue seems to be progressive. I just upgraded from A 8800GTS 512m to a 650ti 2g about 2 weeks ago and have completed about 15 projects maxing at about 6000kb. This only begun last week, and is occuring in the begining of the project at about 2000kb.

I already solved this issue. I just downgrade to Sketchup 6 and I didn't yet get this problems, at least, in that frequency.

Orientation kinda matters because it could inference along one of the model's axis lines (red, green, or blue) or if it is close to one of these axis lines it may snap to it rather than the point you are trying to inference to.

Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening? Its obviously not an isolated issue.

Zooming to extents fills the window with the building. With shadows on, the building disappears completely, but switching shadows off brings it back. So, nothing at a long distance from the origin.
