This bug stays unfixed for decades (in Adobe\Trimble) products. People can't use Layout for this reason. REALLY sucks!

@drumbliss said: It seems likely that the following error message from Install-CheckUp.exe references an incorrect MS Hotfix: [image: Screenshot%202016-12-07%2002.50.23.png] It appears the necessary Hotfix is KB2999226, not KB299926, as that's what comes up in all web-searches. I have not been able to verify this via installation, but KB299926 does not appear to exist. which version of Window are you using? Also, 32-bit or 64-bit?

I just got word from someone on the team. They said this is actually expected behavior due to Mac not recognizing the SketchUp materials. It's not a SketchUp bug but more an operating system thing.

They didn't remove these options in SU2017. They both do work but it might be your graphics card isn't up to the task. What kind of graphics card do you have in your Mac?

Please re-read the earlier posts. He was talking about 3000x2000, which I think is still considered very high dpi.

Two possible reasons come to mind. Do you see this in all models or just one? In Shadows, is Use sun for shading enabled? Are the Light and Dark sliders crossed up? That is, is the light sider all the way to the left and the Dark slider all the way to the right? The other possibility would involve the graphics card. What kind is it? Did this shading issue just start suddenly? It could be that Apple pushed an update to the graphics drivers in a recent update that caused this problem. If the Shadow settings don't fix it, go to Preferences>OpenGL and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration, Is there a change?

Hello, You're nice guy having a good understanding of my concerns. I also wish you or I were a magician but reality quickly comes back! I have just installed SketchUp 16 make on another PC French dedicated. Clean install, never had SU16 only old SU8. Unfortunately same result as you can see on the picture. Driver update do not change anything. Edit: Another trial on a third pc - my neighbour. No change always this annoying popup. [image: xIRO_Untitled0.png]

Thread necromancy here to point out that getting rid of the terrain layer if you're not using it in a geolocated model can manage a huge reduction in file size.

I have experienced the same issue using 2016 on Windows 10. It's so prevalent I cannot depend on the date/time of last modification to determine if this is the most recent version.

Yosemite changed the way osx handles fonts, this compounds many font issues with SU versions prior to v16... v16 includes a fix for most of the font issues... if you are actually using v16, then it may be your .plist pointing to that old 'Mavericks' system font that's causing the issue... john

Perhaps when drawing it you inadvertently enter the radius too early? The typical suggestion for drawing circles is to set the number of sides to something divisible by 4 so that there are vertices on the cardinal points. I use values divisible by 12 so I get the vertices on the cardinal points but the circle is also evenly divisible by 3.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I got a response from sketchUp support which is as follows... Note: (I tried option 4 just turned off ruby and back on) it saves as usual now. "*%(#FF4040)[For file save issues it's typically related to the filesystem on the OS. Make sure you're saving locally (no external drive, no network) Make sure you're saving to a local, non-cloud based file structure as well... no Livedrive, Dropbox and Google Drive... Make sure you're using OS compatible filenames, nothing really long, try to remove non alpha-numeric characters from both filenames and folders Confirm if Extensions are in place that could affect file saves, turn off Ruby if necessary A) http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/1700320]* ".... -SketchUp support team
