@Mike-Amos said in Hot Rod: Are we going to see anything new from you sometime? Been thinking about posting some of the many historic one-off vehicles I have done. Did the only two remaining active sea tractors, both with very interesting histories. Here's a couple shots of the South Sands Sea Tractor [image: 1767228958262-2019-04-01_185212.png] [image: 1767229094789-2022-08-18_061411-b-recovered.png]

First: Thank you, thank you! High praise, indeed, from the likes of you guys! So glad to hear hours of study and gigs of practice pleases more just than me. Ross, the greyscale layer tip will be used alot now, thank you (I remember reading something similar in one of Mateo's tuts, but promptly forgot about it: which happens a lot lately...more each year :`) I haven't had time to play with it much, but here's a start...I put another "hot" color layer under the greyscale, then erased out the grey layer to intensify, and erased out the top transparent color layer to diminish. The result (I think...?) is a control of the atmospheric perspective, without dulling the vibrancy, like I've never had before: [image: bk5x_tn_KBI-5-wc3g-mix.jpg] [image: dkhR_tn_KBI-5-wc2g-mix.jpg] [image: tfxv_tn_palace1.jpg] [image: jL8c_tn_palace1g-mix.jpg]

Dear Remus, Sorry for this late reply but I'm in India at the moment and do not have access to the model. The model is quite large (several MB)because I tend not to optimise file size if it's a design study and not needed for anything else. I also use 48 segments when drawing largish circles to give a smoother appearance. For really large stuff (radii between 500 and 1000 mm) I use 96 segments. Regards, Bob

@trialskid said: hehe forgive me, im only 15 but i have no idea what mullions are... thanks for the comment! That's perfectly alright. Its simply a fancy word for the black bars of material (metal?) separating your window panes. Structurally speaking you could make that entire wall a single pane of glass, with no need for those dividers. In any case they could be thinner. Their thickness as it stands now overly segments the facade, at least I feel that way. Overall I do like the work however, its just me being nitpicky. Do you plan on pursuing architecture? This is strong work for 15 with no formal training,

Sorry to bump this thread. I figured it'd be kind of silly to start a new one for the finished render. Done with Crashwell, not Indigo. [image: eerstecuttx3.th.jpg]

hi all - thanks for comments pretty detailed discussion of technique here thanks to majid: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=4616&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=majid+watercolor also thanks to tom for his tips on the advancement of the digital process found throughout his posts- he has an uncanny ability to precisely make things look imprecise certainly not replaceable by a button.... if anyone is interested it would be nice to take this discussion up again to refine the technique, give it a shot based on the previous posts and see what you can come up with- maybe we can work on it together

Now it just looks like the real thing, you could of just taken a photograph. Somehow I liked the spiffy version. Ooh but that pencil's SHARP (like your estimates?). Great work!

Edson, thank you for the quick answer! I'm having the same dilemma as you. I'm looking for renderer that can produce nice renders, quick and fast. Luckily, now i have little time around Xmas to learn more about KT which is the most impressive (and free!) rendering engine i met so far. I'm pretty sure I will never master KT as the the guys over there in the KT Forums http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=70 but i hope to "develop" a "method" or a set of tools with I can create nice renders with just a few clicks, like you do with Podium. At least this is my goal for the next few days/weeks So thanks again, I will check back here from time to time to see nice projects from you and others! Merry Xmas! A.

Very pretty, sir. On the lighting--I don't know if you can control it: I think it looks more like a spoon than an egg. There's a sharpness at the edges. Perhaps I am perceiving it this way because there's no blurring from depth of field and the image looks like a close-up photo.

You're welcome, I learned allot from the forum, and it's nice to "give back", when you know the answer of a problem.
