You need to step back a little with your SU camera and then
click the "show render area" from the MXW plugin. You'll probably
see two greyed bars appear on your screen. They are either on both sides
of the screen on at bottom and top.
Now make a new SU scene (e.g. scene 1) from this view. Export to MXW.
You'll find the scene as a camera with the name scene 1 with the exact
position as the SU camera.
Hope this helps!

btw I'm on a Mac too…
Thank you LP, looks like I have to wait until I can afford the subscription (currently on student version)
Btw, the materials are really fun to use, but I was struggling with navigation a lot before I discovered the "go to parent" button
Good luck with your learning!

Thanks for the quick reply! If I get any further problems, I'll be sure to contact them directly.
I've managed to get it working, though I had to change a line of code in the Ruby file I mentioned. If anyone else has the same problems, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Plugins (or wherever your Plugins folder is for Sketchup) and open arplugin_trial.rb. Find the line that says
instdir = ENV['ARMEDIA_PLUGIN_TRIAL_DIR']
and change it to have the location you installed your ARMedia trial plugin contained in single quotes. For me, it ended up looking like this:
instdir = 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ARPlugin 1.3 (Trial Version)'
@d12dozr
Could be that big fancy mouse you won in ICEvision competion that is causing the problem?
Send it my direction to see if i can replicate the problem
As for this plugin, it's impressive to view some of the sample applications, especially the hospital model which shows off the programs capabilities.
Here's a link to some samples, you'll need to install the plugin for your browser
This is with Twilight Render (without touching any settings) with "Low+" preset. I have now set a couple of materials (only some that may be relevant for the "exterior" and going to cook another one with a bit higher preset.

Update: here is a version with a couple materials tweaked already (however some of them could use some more care for sure). This was rendered with "Exterior daytime progressive" which is (AFAIK) similar to "noisy" setting in Podium. 30 passes within about 33 minutes. Some more passes would've been good for those areas with deeper shadows.

This Autodesk project holded another name before : Cooper, or something like that. I tested it a few month ago when it was still a beta, and It's really similar to Layout. During the beta, the soft was a bit slow and all options were not available, but ats this time, the soft was already nice. I'll try it again.
Thanks for the heads-up. There was another user with some (probably/maybe) related problem over the Help Forums. I also "updated" the topic there with your info.

...perhaps a short self-presentation is welcome, somewhere here in the forum there should be some basic rules about how posting

Hi Frederik,
I can't contradict you. Everything I have learned about SketchUp and other programs I have from books and mostly from Video tutorials and diligent practice.
Often I hear myself say: damn, that must still work somehow. My mistake is that I'm sometimes too impatient. Thanks for your suggestions. The Manual to Thea, I had completely overlooked.

If you like video tutorials, there are some basic tutorials available for Thea. Take a look also on "How do I...?" forum.
Hi Stinkie, I have been looking at a program called ARC+ in the past few weeks.
http://www.arc-techno.com
Go to the video examples to se it in action.
It is as close as you will get to the workflow that SU provides and seems quite reasonable.
Also, the two guys I have been in contact with from arc-tecno have been very good to deal with as well as one of their resellers in teh Netherlands, Stefan.
Have a look at these short videos on Stefans website. http://www.cadez.eu/video/
Audio is a little annoying so turn off the volume if you want.....
Seems very intuitive though!!
Hi Lapis Lazuli,
Install kerkythea in applications folder, exec file is called kertkythea. You might not be able to launch the program if you do not have X11 already installed make sure you have it, it should work.
This would indeed be useful. I use the Extrude Lines by Vector tool to create my own drawing planes all the time to avoid snapping to unwanted points. Since we can't turn off inference, then we need something to shield the drawing tool from snapping to what's beneath the reference plane.
