Problem solved. I need to put on my glasses before I drag & drop or get a bigger screen. Silly me, I put the plugin in the wrong place!

Matt, There is no "best inside SU renderer under $200". IMO, aside from "features", most rendering applications use the same math, and primarily differentiate themselves by their interface. Each of us are vested in a application by some form of ownership. After you have spent some time with a particular application, it is unlikely that you will attempt to learn something new unless the return is justified.

This is VERY great! But what would be even greater is to have the choice from 1st and 3rd-person view like in Walkabout3D

@putnik said: Anssi, exporting as polymesh gives you one exploded mesh, no groups, no components. With ACIS solids export, everything is nicely grouped. I did my first 3D DWG export try yesterday and it was rather positive. Ok-had no fancy forms, but the minuscule rounded corners someone had put on his window profiles looked quite clean. I used the polymesh option and exported from a parallel projection view. Walls, slabs and roofs became simple surfaces, but family items (windows, doors, curtainwalls etc.) were neatly turned into components. Anssi

Ps : Moi V2.0 Moment of Inspiration has now colors, lightings options work renders, a sort of tricky system of "layers", "objects" etc...better OBJ mesher than Rhino, Export SKP (so you can take some your favorite SKP renderers ) Moi = 295$ Rhino = 1260$ (same father) By Mario [image: MOI_ATL_videata.jpg] Render Atlantis [image: MOI_ATL_render%2002.jpg]

If you use greyscale images (with the colorize function in sketchup) then PNG's are the clear victor in compression as you can specify how many colors you wish to use, dither, etc. For images that have more than 256 colors the file size tends to be in JPEG's favor. The best thing about PNG is continuous-tone(256 shades) transparency. Best, Jason.

Since version 7 this has been possible by using the slider "Direction from surface" in the ecosystem painter. If set at "perpendicular" you can populate up-side down if you want to.

I'm sorry HFM, but I don't see this as spam at all. It's on topic, so what's your problem? All I assume Al is doing is making sure that more people who may hang out in a different part of the forum (which is often the case), get to see a new SketchUp plugin. Al, I'm not offended. Tom

Hi! I have s FF (v 1.x) standard license: the program is well done and powerful, the best thing is the huge user filter library (something like 7000+ filters). I thought I would have used it more often than what I'm actually doing, but I can say it was worth the (discounted) price I paid. I'd suggest you to deeply test the demo before buying (as usual...), keep in mind that for most users the standard license is enough (you can upgrade to pro later) and that they use to have some huge (40/50% off) discount sales in a year... if you're not in a hurry it's worth to wait for the next one if you're looking to FF as a procedural texture maker only (FF has many brilliant image-editor filters too and can be used from within PS or standalone) and you're a Win-only-guy, you may want to try the free MapZone from Allegorithmic: http://www.mapzoneeditor.com/index.php?PAGE=HOME it's not in development anymore but still a great tool for free... finally, if you need to create normal/bump/refl/etc. maps from your textures take a look at ShaderMap: http://shadermap.com/ - it's not free but very cheap (20$ for the "pro" GUI version). also win-only but works fine in OSX under VirtualBox cheers, Alessandro

Hi, I just made a new website with our work, all renders done with Maxwell, models made with Sketchup and Modo. There are some models we actually made at real scale, actual timber, stones and so on... We use sketchup for anything regular and straigthforward, Modo for organic shapes. Vectorworks is our choice for 2D drawing. It also does 3D but that's something of the past. The UI of Vectorworks is useless considering these days developments in 3D cad. I used to model all our 3D work in MiniCad and later Vectorworks. The link to our website is here, I made it with iWeb. http://www.fillieverhoeven.nl Francois
