You have duplicate faces, back face materials or reversed faces in Max? Just a suggestion, but if someone is going to spend $5K on a modeling/rendering package, going through the help files and manual should be the first order of business. In sketchup, makes sure your faces are all oriented properly. In Max 2010-2012 you can import .skp files directly. Only 2012 supports SU8 files, others need saves as SU7 first. To mess with faces in max, you need to get to the face (Polygon) mode. All geometry comes in with an Edit Mesh modifier applied. Click on the object, go to the modifier panel, select polygon mode and select faces you want to delete. You can also check the show normals box to make sure your faces are correctly orientated and that the normal lines are facing outward. There is a flip button in the modifier if they are not.

OK, thanks Adam. I like this web viewer more and more. Will there be plugins for other browsers too (Opera, Chrome etc.). I hope it's not an extremely big effort to port it to other browsers, too, once the core is working.

We had a lot of positive responses to this rendered image/3D Model in the same PDF file from IRender nXt users. (See: New 3D PDF interface for IRender nXt) So we have added the same feature to RPS 3D PDF. The new version of RPS 3D PDF adds a rendering from the SketchUp Window to the PDF file to flip/flop with the 3D model. Using the new interface, you can easily replace the SketchUp rendering with any other image - including renderings from other rendering packages - achieve the same image/3D effect using any rendering package. Ah that'a naff, that seems like such as a standard feature. Tridem, that's a nice rotation, a few jumps up and down but pretty smooth overall, it seems like quite a tricky method though, i'm new to all this you see. What i had planned to do was create a scene in SketchUp as the standard viewpoint, export to Kerkythea and render, then go back to SketchUp and rotate the model, export to Kerkythea and render, etc. I'll let you know how i get on.

There is now a new version (1.1) which includes support for iPad, and cylindrical panoramas.

Ah, thanks. That's exactly what I need. Move, Copy, and Rotate was all I ever used. Come to think of it, I may have had the trial version before, but when the month ended it just kept working.

Hi: Ive been doing a bit of research on this subject as well. My findings: There appear to be four sources to convert SU 3D to 3D for viewing by othgers, clients, etc. The SimLab option that someone else mentioned at around $100. Very simple to use and the fact that anyone who has a recent Acrobat reader (8 or later, I believe) can rotate the model, turn on or off lighting, do basic measurements, etc. Nice and simple, but not many bells and whistles. eDrawings has a viewer, (free) and pro at around $100, that has more options, but requires a eDrawings viewer (which can be packaged into a single executable). Al Hart's (and associates) iNextRender has one that is attached to their render machine, I believe. Finally, Hypercosm which has a free and pro (around $200. This also requires a viewer or a player, but the viewer can be downloaded fro free as an applet for your browser. Hypercosm Pro, though not recently updated (I think) is the most sophisticated, permitting a 'client' to do more re viewing options. Hope this adds to your dilema! Robert

I have a 9600 GT (1Gb ram) and Lumion works pretty fine on it. Certainly not the most modern card of course (and I also have a 32 bit XP - and Lumion is coming out on a 64 bit version soon so I should really upgrade my system and HW as well)
