      Some questions -

      1. Does it play well with SketchUp? Meaning, can you back and forth without a lot of cleanup?

      2. Is there any control of line width for printing? I'm trying out the demo and I only see rather thick dark lines and can't find a way to reduce them for printing purposes.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Well, I can't believe there are no Bonzai users here.
What about Bonzai's Forum or Support-- don't they have either?

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

There are - just give it some time.
I got Bonzai myself - but I've not had any experience with the questions he's asking.

I'm sure these questions can be answered on the Bonzai forums and I'll try over there. But, like many of us, I'm working on several different programs now (SketchUp, modo, HyperShot, Octance, etc.) and managing questions and answers an all those different forums can be kind of a pain so posting on Extensions and Applications makes sense.

I'm patient. Someone will come along with useful information and insights. They always do on Sketchucation.

              i'll take a shot 😳

              1. there doesn't seem to be a way to control line width using Bonzai's print command but you could render first to get rid of lines then print that.
              2. the SU import seems to work very well, as far as getting it back into SU your options are 3ds, dwg, and obj. 3ds works the best for me as long as you check the merge coplanar faces option when importing.

                Thanks for the replies.
Yes, going back and forth from SU seems pretty easy.
The line width issue is irksome.
Nonetheless, Bonzai seems a pretty stable and useful tool.

I did a quick test - Bonzai didn't seen to recognize SU's soft edges. Did I miss some setting?

As for DWG - does DWG export textures?

                      Gentlemen,

Sorry, we have been away from your forum for awhile. Please post to our forum and we promise to be much more responsive! 😄

We have just released the 2.1 version of bonzai3d, which among other things has added support for SKP v.7 files, so you can even more easily import files from SketchUp.

Currently, with line weights, what you see is what you get, but support for further line weight control is something that we will be adding in the future.

DWG export does not support textures (yet) but many other formats (DAE, 3ds, OBJ, FACT, LWO) do support textures for both import and export.
