Thanks Gaieus for your advice. @gaieus said: Regarding your window colour: go to your material browser > In model, there select the window colour and go to the Edit tab. At the bottom, there is the transparency slider (I would use a less blue glass however). I was ignorant enough to try and edit the stock material, which is apparently attributed read only. The controls were at least disabled. [This item should of course have gone into the newbie forum.]

Well, I am a user of Allplan for fifteen years or more and I can say Allplan is a great peace of junk. It's very expensive, it's complicated und there is only a rudiment of a virtual building. The best about Allplan is the money they spend in advertising. So, why I'm so rude? Very easy! Yes, you can build a virtual model and feed it with data. But all functions to get a benefit out of your model are only half developed. There are a lot of known bugs which are not fixed for years and after a main release there are certain new bugs in functions, which worked properly before (e.g. in version 2008 the dimensioning tool was fine, in version 2009 it took a service release to fix it). In the german nemetschek allplan forum are a lot of dissapointed users. They all stay with Allplan, because they paid so much money (and my boss, too) until now and they all HOPE that the bugs get fixed in the next main release. From my point of view I can say: Allplan is far away from a modern BIM-based CAD. The only usable and payable BIM-based CAD I know are ArchiCAD and Revit. Torben

I also think that Dave has updated the exporter to handle larger SKP files.

kc10, for idx, maybe you can get better help on their forum. It also helps to post a image of your problem. As I recall, background images are included in the idx environment menu. You should be able to select your view in Sketchup, then render in idx by matching screen size.

Hi guys I know some of the links are dead, I wrote the RainBath and CityUp as part of my masters; I'll try and get the site fixed etc within the next few days. In the mean time I would appreciate; if you download RainBath and gave it a try. http://rainbath.imcore.eu Downloads page. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I read the announcement also, and was glad to see Ruby being used as the scripting language. Too bad it appears to be only available in the Pro version.

It's hard to make in-depth tutorials for a moving target, but be free to ask questions at Thea Render forums. When features are frozen for release, there will be more tutorials.

Check out their forums as in the showcase section there are unbelievable things. There is a Plugins section (on the top) with all sorts of free and commercial plugins, too. Also, they have an additional software: "Flashificator" (actually, more pricey than the core itself I think some € 55) which has some intuitive UI for editing everything like hotspots. I have not tried them yet but want to. I am hoping to have a decent (pay) project soon where I will use this software and then I will definitely buy that additional thing. Edit; if you purchase the software, it will be shipped with all sorts of example projects and tutorials, too.

Hi Martin great job with the snapshot thing, thats helpfull. is there a possibility to have Shaderlight run on a "iddle mode" ? on my computer it seems like it's consuming a lot of RAM. therefor, I'd like to run it when not working on SU... in fact I'd like to have both mode : live, and iddle... hope you're fine.

@xrok1 said: seems like your going backwards 1.9 to 1.1 ????? the trailing 0 has no value so you might need to rethink your revision numbering 1.09 to 1.1 might be more appropriate. one would expect ver 1.95 or 2.0 to be next No, the trailing zero has a significance - he's going from 9 to 10 (nine to ten). And application version numbering isn't like normal decimal numbers, the numbers before and after the period is independent. I for instance use versions like 1.4.2 (Major.Minor.Revision) Major number increases in major application changes - like rewrites etc or when there's major compatibility changes. Minor is often increased for new feature additions. Revision is often just bug fixes. There are different practices and norms though.

Then the faces are not reversing. So it works now i have learned another lesson today. And FM in Kerkythea means Face Me. But without your answer i would still searching for an answer, so i would like say to you is my thanks.
