I tried to watch the tutorials and they did not center on my screen. Could just be my machine though. And there was no direct return to the tutorial set to select next.

Thank you guys, good to have you alongside. It is just that with all text codes/scripts I'm a total noob. I am trying to use the IES files provided by Martin Lighting at http://www.martin.com/productgroup/productgroup.asp?pg=martinlight What is clear now is that the IES data is simply incomplete. The entire values for candela distribution is on zero. [image: UwVG_nocandelavalues.jpg] [image: KSXw_iesincomplete.jpg] Looks like I have to send a request to Martin directly. Althoug I got one file from the architectural fixures to work, none of the headmoving fixtures seem to work... .....get back later, have an appointment cu

I think you'd be better to post this topic in the http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/ website. Have you already tried a test render to KT using KT2SKUP? It determines the path on the first run. If you do have problems with KT, I can recommend stumping up for Twilight Render - it's very straight forward to use for SKUP users while retaining the power of Kerkythea. Best of luck!

You mgiht also try installing the free PLE version of VUE x-stream that integrates seamlessly with 3dsmax. Maybe that would be a good way to get great plants and atmosphere into your 3dsmax. http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_9_xstream/ It is a workflow I'm currently contemplating myself...so if you try it, let me know how it goes!

Increasing the amount of application memory at the expense of system memory isn't likely to address memory problems in Windows XP 32 bit. It isn't the general application paged pool memory that runs out in most cases. Applications that have a Graphical User Interface must allocate GDI OBJECTS and USER OBJECTS (GDI=Graphics Device Interface). There are limits on the number of such objects that may be created by any single process and there is also an overall per session limit. Per session means a session desktop for a logged on user. SketchUp makes heavy use of such objects. Other applications such as Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer are also very heavy users. When the maximum limit for User Object or GDI Objects is approached the system will begin to degrade. It doesn't usually crash but certain functions such as the clipboard and right-click context menus will stop working. You can see here how many objects are being allocated by various processes: [image: process_exp.gif] The only way to recover the ram used by these objects is to close the apps that are using the space available. Internet explorer is particularly bad in this respect. Firefox isn't any better. The best browser that I have tested is Opera. It uses far fewer objects when multiple tabs are open. Existing allocated GDI and USER objects will not be deallocated until all instances of an application are closed. The situation becomes even worse if Terminal Services is running. Then the GDI ram is allocated from the unpaged system pool instead of the general application paged pool and the number of allowable objects drops dramatically. In fact, if Terminal Services is running then using the Large Address switch on XP will make the situation much worse. Bottom line: There is no benefit to using the Large address switch on Windows XP 32 bit and that probably includes the 64 bit version although I am not certain of that. @mitcorb said: From SUPodium Site suplugins.com/help-v2.php: "System Requirements for the Mac and for Windows requires SketchUp 7 or 8. Mac version will require OS-X 10.5 or above. The V2 engine is multi-threaded meaning it will take advantage of all your CPU core's. You also need a reasonable amount of RAM to hold 3d scene data. The more RAM you have, the more complex models you can render. However, currently SU Podium V2 is a 32 bit application. Therefore any RAM above 4 gigabytes will not be used." Thank you so much for the info!

What I have seen so far is AO, IBL, bumpmapping, all sorts of animation, AR, videotextures... ...a lot of potential. I also like the 3D product catalogue, it is a good example for how much is possible. Thanks for sharing this Tito, and all thumbs up for a tutorial! (see you tomorrow, gotta sleep) a.

Adam! You are the man! I have been waiting for this feature for the Windows OS for some time now! Will this application require LightUp to work... or will this be a stand alone application? Awesome!
