The ARmedia Extension now works in association with the cloud based ARmedia Studio and Mobile ARmedia Players, a suite of tools that will allow you to create and visualize Augmented Reality projects out of your SketchUp models quickly and effectively.

We have added a lot of new features to the product:

• Support for image based, Geolocation and spatial tracking
• A full-fledged Interactive Event Manager
• Web based 3D Editor
• Support for videos, alpha videos, images, audio and HTML5
• Interactive 360° and POI navigation

I'm pleased to announce that at Inglobe Technologies we have released today the ARmedia Player for Android.

The ARPlayer allows you to visualize in Augmented Reality contents created with SketchUp and ARmedia Plugins directly on Android devices.

Basically, the same AR content created with the ARmedia plugin can be visualized on PC, Mac, iOS devices and Android devices as well.

I'm happy to announce that Inglobe Technologies has just released a free fully functional version of the popular ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin for Trimble SketchUp.

The new ARmedia Plugin v2.3 release is intended to provide access to the complete set of features of one of the most trusted and easy to use augmented reality authoring tools in the market. Besides being available in a fully functional free version, the ARplugin now also allows to export videos for iOS.

New features have been added to the ARmedia Player for iOS as well, including:

• support for video textures in augmented reality view
• support for augmented reality models created by 'free' version of the AR-media Plugin

Bug fixes and improvements:

• fixed bug: black images were stored in Photo Album when
• taking screenshots of the augmented reality view on iOS 6
• improvement: taking screenshots on iPhones has been simplified

The plugin works in association with the new version of the ARplayer for iOS. By means of the new ARPlayer for iOS users can now choose geo-location as a visualization option for their projects. This feature allows to use GPS coordinates to locate a 3D model/animation on the earth’s surface. The software then tracks the 3D model coordinates in the real space using a suitable sensor fusion technique. This makes it possible to display virtual models in the real world without any marker. In addition, users can freely move virtual models in the real environment using an intuitive interface to best fit them to their view.

The Geo-localization feature extends the spectrum of visualization possibilities of the ARplugin in many application domains, including architecture, engineering and cultural heritage. The Geo-location feature is available in the ARplugin PRO v2.2

I'm happy to announce that v2.2 of ARmedia Augmented Reality Plugin for SketchUp is now available from Inglobe Technologies

Among the vew features:

• Linked Markers: it is now possible to display a single model on two or more markers, granting the possibility to display more efficiently the same object from different viewpoints*

• Layers Management: 3D objects can be placed on different layers, which can be displayed independently during the AR visualization.

• Timed Slideshow: you can organize your 3D contents to act as a set of slides. In fact, each layer can be displayed for a chosen time interval and then replaced with the following layer.

• Real-time Shadows: you can now configure a light source to cast shadows on 3D objects, in order to obtain a more realistic visualization. Moreover, you can interact with this light source in real-time, moving it and modifying the shadows’ visualization.

• Clipping/Sectioning: thanks to the Clipping planes’ management features, it is possible to create sections of 3D objects in real-time.
