Following the current trend of documenting "unboxings"... For all you guys curious about what you get after purchasing L*mion.

Yeah, sure, "The World On Time"... It took two weeks after they re-sent it from the Netherlands. Mostly time spent in customs.

      resized-bIMG_1294.JPG
Random papers, including an invoice for US$14 service fee FedEx charged for "weighing", "storing" and "handling" the thing. Fortunately, the L*mion guys are now sending these envelopes with a value of 30€, meaning I had to pay no import taxes. With the previous value of 749€ I would have had to pay US$350+ in import taxes. (That's why they had to re-send it)

Inside the envelope you find a way oversized DVD box. Yuki is curious about it.

"This is the solution for easy architectural visualization", says the box. I don't understand the need to market something to you if you have already bought it.

Inside the box, a DVD and a USB dongle. I have no idea why they send you a DVD... you have already downloaded the software, anyway, and the version in the DVD is an old one (There have already been five updated "release candidates" after the release). Perhaps the box is for older people who still have the "boxed goods mentality".

This is what really matters: The USB "dongle". But even this is sooo last century. How many programs you use every day need to take up a USB port with a piece of hardware that has no other purpose other than trying (and epically failing) to "stop piracy"?

The other side of the thing:

LOL, didn't even know that those were still being used.

Congrats on the arrival of your new toy! 😄

Update: I dumped the gigantic box, as the dongle is the only thing that matters.

June 12th update: It looks like I'll have to dump the dongle, too.
