For the RB to load properly, you need to have delauney2.rb in the Plugins folder... Unfortunately that is a very old file. It is not packaged with the affected ZIP. It is also no longer available at the crai-Depot... Here's a copy from my archives... BUT I really do recommend you remove the faulty old RB, and get one of the better/newer Volume tools - see the PluginStore or EWHouse... delauney2.rb

@mm88_mm88 said: Thank you for your reply. Tracing the edge on the inside, it's possible to separate it. Probably the .dxf file is imported on two separate layers. There's a way to merge the layers? thank you In SketchUp, layers do absolutely nothing to separate geometry. It would be a good idea, however, too put all geometry on Layer 0 where it is supposed to be.

I had this sorted almost immediately after posting the initial topic but I was having the same problem as yourself, Box. It must have to do with being a new member. After posting I edited the post as I'd forgotten something and noted an error, which apparently requires awaiting moderation if you're a new member. Well, then no-one put it through so I couldn't tell everyone the good news until much later. Then I edited that one (my keyboard is old so I make errors a lot) and it disappeared for a bit. So, I'd love to have my questions answered about SketchUp's faces and verts as compared with programmes like Maya and its polygons and verts, and additionally, in future, I'd like to provide the information that's apparently missing. What should I have done? just attach the file? I suppose I'd just assumed I couldn't possibly the first person to have this problem and that someone experienced would tell me it was common and how it's fixed. Thanks.

@budlat31 said: Newbie here. But I've spent most of the weekend trying to use Match Photo. Tracing lines of a house. Almost NEVER will the tracing of a surface create a "face". I've read on the forums and tutorials. Issue is often that the points traced are not co-planar. I get that, but how do I MAKE them co-planar and thus solve the problem? I haven't, so far, found instruction on how to deal with this. I found out how to confirm that the points are not co-planar - so now that I know that, what do I do about it? Any help much appreciated. I love these forums. New situation: when drawing a new edges from one corner of an existing face into open space: click on the corner to start the edge hover the tool cursor over the face till 'On Face' pops up press and hold down [Shift] to constrain drawing coplanar and click on target to end drawing the edge. (this procedure may vary slightly, depending on your preferences in drawing, also see menu Window > Preferences > Drawing > Click Style 1/2/3) Correcting existing situation: right click on the desired face (more or less to set the plane to use) and select 'Align Axes' in the context menu (blue becomes the normal/perpendicular axis) with nothing selected but the 'Move' tool, grab an "out of plane" endpoint, move it and hit [Arrow Up] to constrain to blue, and position the tool cursor on the face and click. The moved endpoint moves up to the current red/green plane, the plane of the face. Note that if the endpoint was just slightly out of plane, you may need to move it further from plane, and then in a second step move it into plane.

Yeah you won't get an answer on this from anyone directly involved with Sketchup, whatever they say could be viewed as official policy. My reading of it is if you aren't using if for commercial gain then the free version is ok. ie: you draw up some plans to work out your space, unless you sell those plans to someone there is no commercial gain. But there are many and varied legal loopholes and strangleholds tied up with all of that. Sketchup does grant non profit licenses, so if you feel you need to you can contact them directly.

@jean lemire said: Hi Trev, hi folks. Use View Menu --> Hidden geometry. Hidden face will show with a hatch pattern that look like a grid. Right click on such a face to bring up a contextual menu and choose Unhide in the contextual menu. You can also use section plane to "cut" a model and thus reveal the inside of a geometry. You can use layers to control the visibility of objects, like walls and roof. You can use scenes to memorize the status of the layers and hidden objects shown or not, etc. Just ideas. Perfect! Thanks Jean, Just what I was after! Thanks everyone!

Dear Fredo6, Have tried every which way to download Lib Fredo6 with no results. Have auto downloaded from this website and Sketchup Warehouse. Have unloaded "all" your plugins and re installed latest version, but to no avail. Round corner and Visihole tool bars do not appear. Very frustrated after spending several hours attempting to reolve this problem. [image: Y2Vv_Capture.PNG]

Happy to hear you got it all sorted. You should download and print the Quick Reference card for both Mac and PC. That will show you the modifier keys as well as default keyboard shortcuts for the various tools.
