    Whether or not that has an impact on the operation, you should install the most current version of Shape Bender. You should keep all plugins up to date.

    Hi, i have a problem when i write this code: Create the WebDialog and set its HTML file face_dialog = UI::WebDialog.new path = Sketchup.find_support_file "Ch13/create_face.html", "Plugins" face_dialog.set_file path Set the WebDialog's callback face_dialog.add_action_callback("create_face") {|d, arg| if arg.to_s.length == 0 puts "Invalid input. Coordinates must be valid numbers." else v = arg.to_s.split(",") pt1 = Geom::Point3d.new(Float(v[0].strip), Float(v[1].strip), Float(v[2].strip)) pt2 = Geom::Point3d.new(Float(v[3].strip), Float(v[4].strip), Float(v[5].strip)) pt3 = Geom::Point3d.new(Float(v[6].strip), Float(v[7].strip), Float(v[8].strip)) pt4 = Geom::Point3d.new(Float(v[9].strip), Float(v[10].strip), Float(v[11].strip)) vec1 = pt2 - pt1 vec2 = pt2 - pt3 plane = [pt1, vec1 * vec2] if pt4.on_plane? plane Sketchup.active_model.entities.add_face pt1, pt2, pt3, pt4 else puts "Invalid input. Points must lie on the same plane." end end } Display the dialog box if RUBY_PLATFORM.index "darwin" face_dialog.show_modal else face_dialog.show end the unit appare in inches but mi template in setting in mm.How i can have it in mm? thanks and sorry for my english

    You should start to learn the basic tools, but you can get some ideas in this video series by Elisei e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzjA0GPdQrw

    Post a link to the toilet. It sounds to me as if the toilet is much larger than the rest of your model. Try placing the toilet and then hit Zoom Extents. What happens? It isn't unusual to find components in the 3DWH that are scaled incorrectly. Some users don't understand how to correct the scale on components they may have modeled at a larger scale. Anyone can load any SketchUp component to the 3D Warehouse no matter the quality of the component so what you get can be less than the best.

    A small point, but it might be a good idea to remove some of the information in the title box. Your clients might not be very happy to have their property identified in such detail, or am I just being paranoid! Kind regards, Bob

    You could install Draftsight or Nanocad and work the dwg there natively. They're free.

    Kristoff is right that a texture would probably be a better option. Especially considering that this tile is probably going to be a fairly small part of a much larger model. You could even use the tile you've created to make the image for the texture if you want. There are strategies you can use to help keep file size down in models of this sort (I reduced yours by about 74%) but it doesn't reduce the number of entities and the entities count can impact performance when orbiting and zooming.. I would suggest, though, that rather than turning Profiles off as in Kristoff's screen shot, set it to 1. For the model at hand, it'll look the same either way. [image: BNBU_Screenshot-2_20_20154_26_17AM.png] But, if you have curved surfaces, there's a distinct difference in appearance. This is most evident when using the Hidden Line face style but it's present in the other face styles too. As Dave says... OR if you have the SketchUcation PluginStore Toolset installed, then you can use its submenu item to 'Install Archive...' The native Installer expects an RBZ archive, but the SCF installer works on both RBZ and ZIP archives - meaning you don't need to fiddle around with the file renaming step - just install from the ZIP in one step. Also if you happen to have a lone RB file... then you can also zip it, and use the SCF installer directly on that new zip file too...

    Exploding it might be the right option but maybe not. It would be easier to tell you for sure if you'd share a link to the model or share the SKP directly.

    @penguin2 said: Thank you I will take a look at Fedo's Topo Shaper and ThomThom's guide. When I refer to stacking it is when the gradients become so steep they are vertical. This happens where I have a retaining wall when the contours run along the same line i.e. the vertical wall face. I just can't get the contour tool to recognise this. Cheers, Andrew What is the contours tool? Please post if you can find a plugin that will sculpt a vertical face. Usually if there's a retaining wall you have to model it anyway, but I don't think Toposhaper will reflect the vertical very well.

    Nothing more than the Scale tool. I selected all the faces on one end, except for the final loop that takes you to the centreline. Then I squashed them slightly. Then I did exactly the opposite to the two loops either side of the centreline...stretched them. Obviously, all you then have to do is to repeat step 1 at the other end. However, as I didn't note the scale factor when I squashed the first end...and to get it exactly the same at the other end, I actually cut the whole lozenge in half down the centreline, duplicated it (using Ctrl+Move) flipped the copy and joined the two halves back together again. It sounds complicated, but actually took less time to do than describe. It sounds like you're coming along just fine. I'm sure there will be hurdles...not least making sure the stl file is completely watertight, but you can rest assured that you can print just about anything in 3D from SketchUp...however curvy and organic. It's a pretty lousy photo on my phone, but I actually managed to turn this [image: military-figures-various-positions_FF_Model_ID11158_4_usmil20_thumb.jpg] into this. [image: file.php?id=41424&mode=view] I lost the fine detail on the end of the barrel...but this was quite a few years back

    Welcome to the forum, Zach! There are some plugins that attempt to do this inside of Sketchup - TIG's Image Trimmer and Thomthom's Bitmap to Mesh plugin are two of them. These can work, but I have found other methods to work better. Cura Slicer will automatically make an STL from an image. You can then print the model directly, or save the STL and import it into Sketchup for further work. Shapeways 2D to 3D utility will make a model. You can then download the model and convert to STL with Netfabb Basic for further work. Convert the image to vector format using Illustrator or Inkscape, then save as DWG and import into Sketchup. This method usually makes the cleanest lines. There are other methods you may find by searching "image to stl". Hope that helps!

    You could put your component libraries somewhere that doesn't require permission changes. Make a folder in My Documents or if you have a second hard drive, put the folder there.

    In Model Info/Units you have it set to inches and 0 precision, so it can only tell you the rounded up dimension. Adjust the precision and it will give you an accurate dimension.
