OK I kept typing pan and of course I meant orbit. Sorry. PBACOT - The alt key did not help - I did not see a real difference. Charlie and Dave - you are of course right - I do not know why I did not think of doing just that. And Dave - see my response on the "embedded" components. THANKS TO ALL - It just goes to show that "If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room" - I forget that I am often in the right room and should just ask questions!

One reason could be the imported drawing has edges that do not exactly meet or intersect. Also ome CAD drawings are 3d and though it's not clear in a 2d projection some edges don't lie on the same plane exactly. Sometimes minuscule inaccuracies are not detected by SketchUp. They look right in SU but really there is no intersection making a closed shape. SU has some trouble deciding what is coplanar and what is not. For example performing intersect faces on a face will only catch part of all the faces that abutt that face. Nothing's perfect.

@pbacot said: If you have two faces that coincide and are hidden, there's no problem. If they coincide and show, that is not good, and it also relates to what would be physically impossible. Make simple shapes, e.g. a window frame that act like the real (more complex shape) and this shouldn't happen or just be careful and frugal about how you represent surfaces. Doubled faces in some cases mean you've drawn more than you have to. clear! I was asking that question becuz I was just confused if I have to approach that physically correct or not. thanx again!!

No way I know of. SKB files are only controlled via timer or not enabled in the Preferences. Hard to trap for accidents like deletion. Did you try Microsoft SyncToy?

Hi Garry, why do you need sketchup pro to download models from 3d warehouse? And I am curious why you would be using sketchup 8? I think 3d warehouse is only compatible with sketchup 13 and above. Why wouldn't you download sketchup make 2017?

Guides are not printable in SketchUp. They could be made to show and print using LayOut or you could replace the guides with real dashed lines in LO. Using LayOut would give you better options for dimensions and adding text to the views, too. You should be using SketchUp Pro for your business instead of Make anyway.

Should be the same with Flowify but seems this case has some few faces missing in the result! : A little more more tricky than Shape Bender but more versatile) same_flowify.skp [image: QWFE_should_be.jpg]

@dave r said: I don't follow you. Why can't you select the edges? Why do you have all those internal faces? @dohyungkim said: why the middle one make it hard...?? Why are you making it much harder than it needs to be?? Why not just use Follow Me to draw the thing? [attachment=0:c9z4b1n3]<!-- ia0 -->Screenshot - 8_27_2017 , 10_30_52 AM.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:c9z4b1n3] you are right...that should be much easier. but either way would be ok as long as fillet doesn't go weird. thanx Dave R!

GSM is an ArchiCAD library file. There is no direct importer for it into SketchUp. However, the architect who gave you these files could easily export them from ArchiCAD into a usable CAD file type - if you were an AutoCAD user then it'd be DWG or DXF - or for other apps perhaps DAE, OBJ, STL etc... BUT the newer versions of ArchiCAD also export in SKP format [SketchUp] directly - so that would be the simplest path ? He needs to help you !

It's better if you post an image and more an skp file (save as V6)! Else I don't see why you have this problem! [image: GIF_circle.gif] Guides are drawn following a previous one as inference line! [image: GIF_circle1.gif] Circle is drawn with taking the orientation of the face by Shift! [image: GIF_circle3.gif] First guide is drawn by a move and come back! (move & back can be external or internal as following) [image: GIF_circle4.gif]

Hi George, Please log out from the site, log in again on the main page at https://sketchucation.com. Do you see menu point near to the upper right corner of the window named "Dev. Tools"? If yes, please click it. It should work now. I also try to set your user to be able to send PMs...

I assume you are using the SketchUcation toolset ? In v2017 SketchUp introduced its own Extension Manager [Window menu v/ Preferences] The current SketchUcation toolset includes the ExtesionWarehouse³ AND Managers for Extensions and Plugins. In effect all RB [Ruby] files installed in your Plugins folder are 'plugin' files, and these are auto-loaded as SketchUp starts. Simple RB files load and offer some functionality. Other RB files have a supporting subfolder of scripts to add functionality. These 'Plugins' appear in the SCF 'Plugins Manager' and can be disabled/enabled. Other 'Extension' RB files also have a similar subfolder - they are defined by their authors to be a particular subset of Plugin - 'Extension' - that is mandatory in anything available from the EWH. These files load like other Plugins, but if the are disabled using the native 'Extension Manager' OR the SCF 'Extensions Manager' then they are not displayed in menus or toolbars etc. If you disable an RB file using the SCF Plugins Manager, which might have loaded an Extension, that possibility is sidestepped. So you can enable/disable both simple Plugins AND complex Extensions, if you disable the 'loader' RB that would have loaded an Extension it never gets listed... Note that NOT all scripts load main menu items - some are run from the context-menu, or are 'helpers' or run from Ruby Console - and then their menu items are not restricted to the Plugins [now renamed Extensions] menu

It is in the main menu too ? The context-menu varies with the selection, and it is replicated in drop-down menu associated with the last item in the Edit menu. The title of the last item will vary depending on the selection - here, for a group it'd say 'Group' etc - like Entity Info does...
