Plugins
-
Hi,
I have recently downloaded sketchup make free version but for some reason when opening my older sketchup 8, none of my plugins are available! All have been removed. Has downloading SU make affected this? Can somebody help me please!? Need me ma plugins! Thanks in advance,
Karim.

P.S the plugin file is now titled "sdk plugins" for some reason.

If SketchUp Make was installed normally, the two versions really don't have anything to do with each other. A normal install of SketchUp 8 would have put it in a folder called 'Google' while the new version goes in a folder called 'SketchUp'. I haven't seen any cases in which the new version overwrites folders in the old version. Are you using a localized version?

Sorry what do you mean by localized? Nothing was overwritten, but, the plugin folder for sketchup 8 is now titled 'sdk plugins' and has nothing in it but a ddl file called collada. It was a healthy full folder before downloading sketchup make so I assume it might have to do with that. Not sure where to go from here. Its getting darker and colder each day without the plugies

Localized: What language version did you download?
What's in this folder called sdk plugins?
It sounds like at this point you should repair the SU8 installation and download the plugins you need. You should be installing fresh copies of them into SU2013 instead of copying them over from the old version, anyway.

I didnt copy anything over from the old version. The file inside the plugin folder now title 'sdk plugins' is called collada.
Why do you think the folder has been renamed 'sdk'?

I don't know but SketchUp 2013 shouldn't have done anything with your SketchUp 8. As I said before, SU 2013 is installed in an entirely different directory than SU8. As far as I know SU 2013 doesn't even look at the Google folder or its contents during install.
Or did you use a custom install location when you installed SketchUp? Is SU 8 in a folder called Google?
