Make the lattice into a component or group and place it where you need it in the model. Remember you're working in 3D space so you can place one thing in from of another.

"His" meaning he made/wrote the plugin. If you can turn off some (irrelevant for SketchUp) layers in CA, that's the best. In SU, you can also delete layers - just make sure to select "delete content" when doing so. You could actually keep them in there and just hide but almost certainly you will not need them (unless you want to display a cross section of such a layered wall)

If you want to physically cut the model in half and discard a part of it then you need Zorro2. You can use this tool in conjunction with a section-plane and SectionCutFace to split your model in half and add faces to the cuts... Search in the Plugins Index for these tools... There are several SCF threads discussing how to do this very thing... do a Search...

You could import the image as a texture and apply it to a face placed outside the window in the correct location.

Hello ThaiI, am not able to successfully import an obj Michael 4 (model of dazstudio) in Sketchup. Have you managed to import a sketchup model with texture in? If yes, can you list me the exact settings? I am a beginner with Daz and I can not find how to make sure if the mapping UVmaps are not stacked (overlappying). Hi Slarti, Certain "things" in SketchUp are stored inside the model even if they are deleted from model space (or are not otherwise used in the model). Component, Materials, Styles and (empty) Layers. In each of the browsers of the above (under "In model" where applies), on the right, there is a small, blue icon that triggers a flyout menu. There you can find the "Purge" command. Note that as long as an unpurged component has a material, you cannot purge that material for instance. An alternative is Window > Model info > Statistics - and at the bottom, there is also a Purge button that purges all 4 kinds together. I guess your dae import came in as a component and is still among your "In Model" components.

GREAT! You were correct, I do use a second monitor sometimes and that's where it was! You know , I tried to learn SketchUp when it was first released but I would encounter areas I could not understand and finally gave up. Now,the ability to ask a question and get help is super. Yes the older version of Slicer is still available - it's more forgiving of non-solid objects, but lacks the newer one's ability to 'slot' parts. export for CNC etc...

TGI 3D Smart UV ThomThom's Quad Face Tools Both can map quite well. The latter needs the mesh as a Quad Face compatible setup.
