How to create an Asteroid in SketchUp?

    Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial that will show me how to create an asteroid in Sketch Up?

      I've never seen an asteroid created in SketchUp but I imagine there's something similar around. Have you go a photo of what it should look like? Are you just after a big, pock marked rock?

      I expect you could use Artisan or Vertex Tools . Both are plugins for SketchUp.

        It's just a large rock.
        The 3dwarehouse has several 'asteroids' and many more 'rocks'.
        See how they are made/textured, for clues at least.
        You can start with a box and chop off its corners.edges etc and use Move on vertices/edges/faces to distort its shape until it looks like you want, then maybe Smooth it and apply a suitable textured material [perhaps projected] ?
        Artisan and Vertex tools etc help in doing this as there's better control, but it's quite possible with the native-toolset.
