I'm very very mad on google. They did nothing to improve SketchUp ir version 7. Useless dynamic components and nothing for well knovn bugs!

well I tried their .3ds export with 2 simple cubes (components). The plug-in complained that it can't be exported because they're components and I'd explode them before. I uninstalled it instead (which imho is a much more productive idea)

you may be able to reenable the thumbnil using nirsoft shellexview. its a tool for tweaking the windows shell. its a tiny file. download it, run it, and broswe to thubnails. you'll see the "sketchup shell extension class". if its disabled, you can enable it from there. hope that works out. cheers.

I know that we are all going to say great , one should hope for something like this to happen but in my oppinion human nature is not like that, Even bad news are good news to most people. I did upload the correct file... BUT the weirdness of Vista is that it segregates 'compatibility files' when they're inside the Programs Files Folder. I based RandomSelect on RandomDelete. I copied it, renamed it and changed its contents - and when I used it it read the right one and runs fine !!! BUT for some stupid reason Vista uploads the initial unedited copy - although it has the right 'name'... The seven step work around (select/section/create group from slice/explode/delete plane/delete edges and surfaces on one side of the plane/heal the open end) is OK when we trim a rafter or three, but we need to animate a wind blown "explosion" and it would be great to find a Ruby that could slice and dice a group/component and leave the pieces or sections of the orig object grouped and intact. Didier, are you KIDDING ME?! THIS TOOL IS A MUST-HAVE for AutoCAD users... I mean I use this thing all the time! If by extrude lines he's talking about the "Extrude lines using 2 Points" tool... or the "Extrude Lines Up" tool... both of which I use many times every day.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. The position camera command wants always to animate. For complex models, try wireframe mode, then switch back display after the camera move.
