[ruby request] edges to layer

Hi!
I'm dreaming about a ruby that would digg into selected components and move all edges to some layer
(hidden in all scenes for example(many thanks Jim for "add hidden layer.rb").
Is it doable?Or alternatively to show selected objects (including components)in "edges off" mode in all scenes?

Shouldn't be too much problem.
Though, got one question. What if you have a five components of the same type and you select only tree of them and perform this command; would you like these tree components to be made unique? Or would it be ok if it affected all components? -
