oh, yes. I forgot about the Homer Button. that one really gives a glimpse of what could be done... do you think I should start a ruby request or would I be banned for life time from the 'ruby discussions' section?

ah, I just discovered the problem with the material naming thing. the name-input-line keeps the focus, even if you hit enter. the only way to get the focus out of it is to either change a setting of the material, choose another tool (doesn't work, if you use shortcuts of course) or click somewhere in the stage (a bit uncomfortable, because quite often at this moment the paint bucket tool is selected and you don't want to paint anything). the best way would be to type in the name and then hit enter to confirm and draw the focus away of the name! (any Googlers listening? write it down somewhere, cause unless you change it right now this is something you easily forget )

Hi Pot-paris sorry it was of no use Yes you can use the CTRL key when moving, and pick the insertion point or grasp point each time. The idea with the technique was to be able to continually paste an object(and pick its grasp point), with it sticking to your cursor, as the Autocad copy function until you press exit or as in this case release CTRL&V. NB the selected object thats being copied and pasted has to be exploded, does not work with groups or components but it works OK when pasting inside groups. Quick video - don't know if that helps its my first one - sorry no sound. I agree with you "it would be marvellous, if this 'remember-last-grasping-point' function when copying and pasting could be added to groups as well"

Dan Dennett: A secular, scientific rebuttal to Rick Warren http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/dan_dennett_s_response_to_rick_warren.html Sounds reasonable to me! Just one thought! We supposedly have been created in God's likeness according to the Bible! Would it not follow that we should actually THINK about matters rather than simply follows various writings regardless of their origin?

[quote="plot-paris"]Ken, I hope you are aware of the fact, that you can only import images with maximum resolution of 1024 px. anything above that will be scaled down by SU, although the full file size will be added to the SU-file. And that is my problem. I import the image close to 1024, however, when you scale uthe up to size, you get large pixels. That is my wish, since PDF is vector, that it would import into Sketchup and scale up without the large pixels. Thanks for your input. Ken

same happened to me Dylan. therefore I deleted all my rubies in the plugin folder and copied them in again separately, thus finding the ones that were not compatible. I think most disturbing is, that the IES plugin conflicts with progressbar.rb, for this one is used by many other scripts...

thats what I tried to do. perhaps I should learn tools before using them I was not able to snap the control points of a bezier curve precisely to the camera position points. perhaps I should have closer look at the tools provided by fredo. will let you know, if I have success with that. [Edit] ok, as far as I understand it, it is only possible to draw these bezier curves on a plane, but not in 3 dimensional space. so it doesn't work for me when I try to connect camera-positions that differ in height. please correct me, if I am wrong (I would very much like being wrong on this matter ) [/Edit]

I would also like to see the "view cube tool" in the top right corner of the screen. makes navigating easier than it currently is with SketchUp's standart views. great idea about the "no clipping" mode. so the Mighty Animation Tool would automatically alter the camera path in order not to get too close to surfaces within the view window.

I dont think a glossiness/roughness scale would add too much to the interface, its pretty self explanatory really.
