a real minor thing: when I select a group, right-click it and use the 'Make Component' command, the object is deselected after the transformation process. I would like it to stay selected.

Plus the ability to give it a name immediately - maybe the component browser should be triggered right away.

that was my first thought as well.

but on the other hand. what if you want to continue modeling immediately and type in a shortcut key? then you will write the key into the name tag of the component. (I run into this little trap every now and then after creating a new material and renaming it. because my paint bucket tool is selected, I don't want to click on any geometry to get the focus back onto the stage. so absentmindedly I press the shortcut for the select tool, only to find this letter repeatedly in the name of the material) πŸ˜„

[Edit] could there be an intelligent way? like, if you hit Enter right after the 'Make Component' process, you enter the name tag of the component? the same could be true for group creation.

Not if we are working with SU

I've done that way too many times! fnargh!
I'd wish that the tool windows never kept focus. That whenever you've interacted with them they return the focus to the SU window. (Of course, they have to keep focus when you edit a textfield)

ah, I just discovered the problem with the material naming thing. the name-input-line keeps the focus, even if you hit enter. the only way to get the focus out of it is to either change a setting of the material, choose another tool (doesn't work, if you use shortcuts of course) or click somewhere in the stage (a bit uncomfortable, because quite often at this moment the paint bucket tool is selected and you don't want to paint anything).

the best way would be to type in the name and then hit enter to confirm and draw the focus away of the name! (any Googlers listening? write it down somewhere, cause unless you change it right now this is something you easily forget πŸ˜‰ )
