Update references
-
hello everyone,
I intend to use Layout 2 from now on, because the idea of setting up a page layout once and reusing it during the modeling/design process simply by updating the reference is fantastic and time saving.
my problem is though, that I always save a design several times a day under different names with progressing number (e.g. Project1_081125_model01).
unfortunately I was not able to find any way to 'reload' the reference and choose a different skp file. without this option the whole benefit of layout is lost for me.therefore my question: is there a way to change the reference file for drawings (preferably for all drawings at the same time)?
please feel free to move this thread to the newbies forum if it is too basic a question.

OK, so what I did was:
- Created a model in SU, saved it under a separate folder (name it "Project something" or what) and sent to LO (from the file menu).
- saved the LO file with the SU model in
- started a new file in SU, saved with the same name in same folder
- in LO, right clicked the SU model and went to "Update reference" - the new file loaded smoothly.
I think you could create a nice template with even several pages and whatnot and copy it into the respective folders of your projects and just keep reloading the SU files in them.

Even better
I just tried with one page (then it's all the same) but this way all pages update and you need not go through many pages. -
Thanks, Gaieus and CHARLIE__V for the help. now nothing stops me from diving into the use of Layout!
