So I made a simple model and tested the snippet without selecting anything. It works flawlessly. I don't think it iterates inside groups. Only tried on loose geometry, but I'm going to try That. EDIT: What it does seems to be doing is grouping all groups in the model into a new group called Layer0. It doesn't act inside those groups. This is cool and a way to control the scope. Geometry to be affected by the snippet should be in root of the model. EDIT2: Groups that are tagged already, get their objects inside grouped and stripped from tags. This happens even if they have no tags. All other groups are grouped together in a group called Layer0

Hi, I can do that, but when dealing with 50+ scenes and 50+ Layers it´s a bit of a pain. So I keep Layer's panel always active just so it automatically saves layer changes to current scene.

To upgrade from my current version 6.5 to 8 will cost $880, that is a ton of money for an upgrade, I'm torn.

Philip, I tried the solution you posted above, but ended up using 2 AnimateSlow on a single onClick. I didn't know one could use the semicolon to have double results from one onClick function: [image: KpTO_RevolvingandSlidingDoor.gif]

@stinkie said: Edit: sorry, I had to mess with one of your images. Couldn't resist, as it looked so very, very tempting. I somewhat overdid it -don't drink and post process, kids! No problem Stinkie, you did over do it but I like the bloom effect. I don't worry much about adding those effects as my aim is basically to study architecture. @chedda said: Great job, has all the ingredients for realism. Yup, I shall not do this often again. It's basically too much for what I need. I like to do it as sort of a hobby though. Thanks for your comments guys!

Earlier I was testing different software for controlling my desktop computer with the help of laptop in my living room. I found the best one to be Anydesk when considering performance and quality. I actually use Sketchup and Unity3D with help of this remote software. Anyway, I have not really tested Anydask over the internet. http://anydesk.com/

@jql said: Thanks for your interest, but there's just so much to do in so little time... So true. I only write code in the downtime of my architecture business. Its just prototype code. Making proper plugins out of that code would greatly increase the coding time so probably Will never happen. I tried iT once and No succes. Hats of though to the people who can and do.

James just published my recent tutorial on Krita and Sketchup on Sketchupartists. Here is the link to the post: http://www.sketchupartists.org/tutorials/sketchup-and-advanced-modeling/sketchup-and-krita-for-texturing-and-match-photo-editing/ Not only does it describe the texture preparation to be used in Sketchup, but it also gives an overview of the Krita interface that I think may roll the ball.

@fredo6 said: Dave, Yes I know. Visitor is just in draft mode. Actually, I will allow the usage of views (same filtering as in the Editor). I will also decouple the Camera, Style and Layer Visibility in the next version. View Camera will still have the possibility to carry style and layer visibility, but that will not be the default. This will allow to control layers independently of view (in your case, the visibility of the water curtain is linked to the animation of the car, regardless of the view). Sounds good to me..

@jql said: As I broke my sequences (spacebar and line issue on other thread) and I couldn't retrieve it, I was experimenting on what I could do. I ended up exploding the animated object wich made the timeline flow again though no object was moving. Of course the sequences now weren't attached to any object... so I remembered to edit my sequences and try to find a way of assigning them to other objects. Is there a way to do this? Did you go back to the edit panel for the sequence then click on the select icon to select new objects? While I have messed this up a few times, I have also found that in fact, I could do it (at least I think I remember doing that).

Hi here is the model: Flatten Faces Simple Model - DWG based - 2013.skp All scenes starting with "V" are the dwg files imported with Tig's "Xref Manager" Plugin (I'm using Sketchup Pro here), the only thing I changed was adding faces to those components wich could eventually help me design on top of them. The process is done by hand and very labourious to setup as one has to export each dwg individually, create a lot of scenes and layers, correctly manage them and then insert dwgs and align them with model. Alternativelly, one could import all dwg files and lay them flat in the XY plane, wich would allow for less work. This is also similar to what CADup does and is closer to what I used to do when I worked with CAD too. All this work could make sense on VERY complex buildings wich Layout can't really handle if they are 3D, but with this system it would handle easilly. The file has 3 kinds of scenes: Standard sketchup 3D section scenes wich have no prefix. They show the model, an active section and the corresponding SectionCutFace; 2D Scenes with isolated SectionCutFaces wich have the "X" prefix; And also 2D scenes with the imported DWG files wich have a "V" prefix. Each "X" and "V" scene has a corresponding layer wich is visible only on that scene. I have also changed the layout file to correspond to this setup: Simple Architectural Layout - DWG Based 2013.layout [image: zuDz_SimpleArchitecturalLayout-DWGBased2013_2.jpg] [image: qRq3_SimpleArchitecturalLayout-DWGBased2013_3.jpg] [image: tb6c_SimpleArchitecturalLayout-DWGBased2013_4.jpg] [image: AeHY_SimpleArchitecturalLayout-DWGBased2013_5.jpg] By now my hopes are no longer very high, but I'd really wish this, or something similar would be possible to develop... Thanks for all your input so far!

@jql said: That is a very interesting plugin glro, it's also very interesting how you modeled that scafold as you seem to have done that based on a line or "bone" system. Have you done that based on some plugin? The base concept is indeed similar to this request however the fact that it compares bounding boxes doesn't fit in this case as it's the actual faces and edges I would wish to compare. This is something I have to do by hand on all my projects, but follows a very simple rule, so it could be fit for a plugin. It would save me literally hours of work, so it would be worth a lot to me. Here's a real example I made in sketchup: [attachment=0:1d3fe13i]<!-- ia0 -->example.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:1d3fe13i] the example scaffolding is made totally with components, no edges, no surfaces; so it is possible to use the bounding boxes; the axis line is needed to position precisely the components one onto another The example you show is made of lines, hatches, ... traditional 2D drawing elements; i wouldn't know how to deal with that; maybe the rules you mention might be translated into code lines.
