Question 01:
It just seems like Section Faces applied to the Section Cut remain stuck in place and also remain visible in my 3D model once I return to my main 3D perspective Scene. They dont hide as per a standard SketchUp Section Planes does
They are just geometry like any other faces with edges wrapped up in a group container. And like any other group, if you don't want to see it in certain views, you turn off the tag/layer you have associated with it.

Question 02:
Can they be dynamic, so if i move the section plane, the faces also auto update in the new section plane position?
Yes. If you enable that when you create them. Turn on Auto Update. Then it will update after you move the section plane.
@alexpacio2013 said in Discussion - object is not a manifold solid !?:
I guarantee you that Bool tools 2 works and works better than the standard tools even among solids
You're preaching to the choir on that point. I don't use nor even recommend the native Solid Tools.
I guess I have no problem, even for complex objects, with making them solids so I get predictable results when using Bool Tools 2 or Eneroth Solid Tools.
@Mahasamaritan said in [Plugin] Lines to tubes:
How can you make Lines to Tubes work in Sketchup 2014?
Just install it using the Sketchucation ExtensionStore tool, select the edges and then run it. It works just fine in older SketchUps.
What do you need from these threads? Do you just need to represent threads are are you planning to 3D print them? Or maybe something else?
If I need threads that match existing standards, I find it better to draw the correct profile and extrude it along a helical path. Here are some fairly recent examples.

divide do not work on sketchup 2025 I'm alone with this ?
Well, it works for me in SketchUp 2025.
These things seem to find me. I come across various sources for dimensioned drawings of various machines and use them to make these models. I find them a good alternative to the woodworking models I tend to do for clients.
@panixia that's fine. I was simply demonstrating what it would take for the OP to use the texture image they shared.

...and there are also online and github converters to get to rgb or hex...
Did you happen to find anything that would convert all of the colors to RGB or HEX in one go? I could only find converters for single colors.
Thank you all.
For those who aren't familiar with reading micrometers, the lead screw which drives the moving anvil has 20 threads per inch. So one full turn of the screw moves the anvil 0.05 in. That moves the pointer on the small dial one division and of course the pointer on the large dial, a full revolution. The major divisions on the large dial indicate 0.001 in. I don't know how precisely the original lead screw's threads were made but a device like this can be quite precise in its measurements.
@HornOxx from where did you delete them? On Windows the shipped materials are in Program Data.
I think Rich is correct that they are also hard coded so they would get rewritten if you delete them. And certainly the folders would be rewritten if you reinstall SketchUp.
@LindaRose if the cursor looks like the one in Rich's screen shot, the tool will create guides. If you tap Ctrl so the curosr is the tape measure without the red +, it will only measure withot created any guides.
Guide points are created if you start from a point or intersection. Guide lines are created if you start from an axis line, an edge, or another guideline. That's all there is to the tool.
I don't have a Mac anymore to be able to make a screen shot for you. In the meantime check out the Help files on the topic of formatting text in LayOut. https://help.sketchup.com/en/layout/formatting-text Specifically under Setting paragraph formatting.
@HornOxx thank you! Two ceparate lines-only exports from SketchUp combined with the render from Vray.
@danna Rich is correct. Rotating the component would be simplest. You could also set gluing properties for the component and drag copies of it in from the Components panel.
I've set the axes so the component's origin falls on the vertical face of the box.
@Aartrace1 that seems normal if you are locking and unlocking viewports. Why are you locking the viewports and the layer they are on? No need to do both. I would only lock the layer(s). Then, when you update the SketchUp reference, the viewports will render automatically if Auto Render is enabled.
@Rich-O-Brien
Not a whole lot of difference with AO on this one.
