might be useful to have a dialog option to enable users to add basic info - select type, enter model #, H-W-D, and/or maybe select similar product type and re-size to "simulate" pending adding an actual model.

i know for me, given space constraints on uiltity rooms in recording studios, having the equipment sized correctly (as simple boxes) is much more important than the detailed looks when configuring the approximate systems layout for the engineers to refine later.

looks like some more configuration work needed.

      1. part way scrolling through a list of posts suddenly there is some refresh looping causing the entire page from the advert on down to jump back and forth (up and down really) making things unusable.

      2. the "vote" column might be better on the outside column so accessing the last post link isn't potentially cutoff from the view when the browser window is smaller than (perhaps) optimal for the site?

that worked! no sketchucation errors. just some previous initialized messages in the console for FileUtils.

    • RE: How to remove non-existing but listed Material Libraries?

and then, when you update to 2025, the default is into the app data\roaming directories, but still mysteriously mapped to the old 2024 path - so you end up with duplicated entries if you copy from the 2024 into the new home paths in 2025... very confusing - the preferences setting should be honored as-is or port the old path into the preferences... i just spent an hour trying to figure out why i was getting duplicates when i copied over to the new preference settings... please fix this in the next update...

@Rich-O-Brien doesn't look like there is an option to edit signature in the settings or profile areas (found via the vertical triple dots).

also, the "your posts" is called "best posts" - maybe call it "latest posts" or "recent posts" as i'm sure not all my most recent posts are the "best" ones ๐Ÿ™‚

ok, so adding a parent component which controls the copy and rotate, i just need to add the parameter selections in the parent and pass them to the (what was) the original component (now the child) and it seems to be working. appreciate the assist. this is an annoying feature... ๐Ÿ™‚

    • RE: Welding Symbols

are you using Layout for the drawings? if so, it might make sense to just create a scrapbook with weld symbols you can quickly drag onto the drawing, then populate any text sections or have auto-text if it makes sense.

basically start with say a dozen symbols you commonly expect to use, then update the scrapbook as you go along and add the other symbols you use.

    • RE: Medeek Wall Plugin

for some reason, many "metric" countries are using different building codes and material sizes from the others. whenever i start a studio design for someone - first check - get all the building codes and material sizing for that country established before beginning the actual design work. early on (~20 years ago) i made the mistake of assuming all metric countries were "standardized"... then after doing all the construction docs, during review the builder pointed out all the wrong dimensions on the materials, code-prohibited practices or confused one etc etc... needless to say another 3 weeks to fix it all...

i find SU 2026 unusable do the folder setting restrictions which make my component and material collections virtually unreadable from all the duplication and then consider that if i do modify the folders, the installer simply reverts. so i'm on 2025 until they can fix it. thankfully i don't use a SpaceMouse...

one future evolution - create a separate plugin for doors and windows, etc so your plugins are focused - wall does walls, floor does floors, trusses do trusses, etc -- then doors and windows CRUD doors and windows in walls or ceilings etc, stairs probably should get their own as well given the complexities. same way you broke out electrical, hvac, plumbing... that would simplify both the wall plugin and not require as many updates, whereas doors and windows would likely get more frequent ones as you add models and options for them.

very useful. for my purposes, since most recording studio isolation is mass, i have my spreadsheet to calculate the walls, floor, and ceiling structure. this includes framing, sheath layers, insulation, and for my estimation electrical, plumbing, ducts, windows, doors, and absorption assemblies. i think the former layers in the floor, wall and perhaps truss would also be helpful (i use trusses to suspend interior ceilings on load bearing walls when i have long spans where a simple joist won't handle it, like a live room)

so, on the white "paper" space you would have a list (slots) for entering text "kitchen light", "kitchen outlet", "garage door", "clothes washer", "clothes dryer" etc and add some parameters like voltage, amperage, single, dual, etc?

"clothes dryer", 240V, 30A, SINGLE -> voltage logic would span a 240V across both busses?
"air conditioner", 240V, 50A, DUAL -> would have two 240V splitting 25A across each for the air handler and compressor?
"kitchen lights", 120V, 20A, DUAL -> split two 10A circuits on single breaker (dual switches) for overhead and under counter lights to save breaker slots
      etc
