Hi Taylor, When you "poked" that shape through the other one, select everything, right click on the selection, and from the context menu, go to Intersect > ...with model (or selected). Now the two shapes will form edges where they meet and you can start carefully deleting unwanted geometry.

Hi Poonam, This is definitely not a LayOut question. Edit - are you referring to the QHull plugin by the way?

OK, here how it should go: Never put "raw" (or "primitive" - i.e. ungrouped) geometry anywhere but always keep it on Layer0. Make a group of what you want to put on any other layer (or make a component if there will be more instances of the same geometry in your model) and only put those onto other layers.

I don't know guys, If the edges all around the end of this shape coplanar, you should just select them and do a regular offset without any further hassle and plugins. [image: au9U_Offset.jpg] Now if they are non-planar, make an intersection with a flat face and do it afterwards. Another way would be to fill in that face first (just redraw a segment on the perimeter - again, only if the end edges are coplanar) and then do the offset. [image: oo8v_Offset2.jpg]

Would be cool but it's hell distorted as well, isn't it? (I'll move the topic to the bug reports - leaving a "fascinating" shadow topic here - if you don't mind )

Cool. U(sincerely - I do remember these moments...) Anyway, you could have spared some of thwe work (deleting parts of the circles) by using teh arc tool instead. Moreover, you can always enter values into what's now called the "Measurement box" (in older tutorials you will find reference to a certain "VCB" for this). So in a case of an angular input, just type the angle and hit Enter. Also, to make it easier, scroll down to where uit says about "Radial arrays" on this page. (and when you are at it, also examine Linear arrays here)

Tool bars are different on the Mac. You can't stretch them at all. Basically, you can dock one or leave it floating. But that's about all you can do! You CAN customize the menu bar up along the top of the window (View/Customize Toolbar). Of course, I hope I'm wrong!

What it means is you need to be able to define where you want your DCs to go using a formula like y=x^2, or z=x^2. the attached file puts the oblongs on the curve y=x^2 (plus a few constants to stretch it nicely.) dc copy along curve.skp

Hi TIm, I am not sure I am following you. You say: @unknownuser said: the window that lets me name the component does show up on my screen, but it will let me make a component still. Now how do you make that component then? Anyway, something may have gone wrong with your SU. Go to Window (menu) > Preferences > Workspace and there, at the bottom, restore workspace. Hope it will fix your hiding dialogs.
