Roberto, Nice models, but I only have options to download .kmz or .dae...could you make them .skp instead? It would be easier... Thanks.

thank you to everyone who has taken the time to answer my question. it is an issue that has been raised in the past & will be raised again many times in the future. i know that it must seem odd to those of you living outside of australia but, the simple fact is that this is unfortunately an overly politically correct culture filled with committee driven ideals & crap like 'target indicators', what ever the hell they are. i think it would be best if i just let this issue slide for now. cheers & all the best for the coming year. Glen

In "Box Modeling", the method is to pushpull a face (without it creating an internal face in other modelers), then scale the new edges as desired. Then pushpull again and again, scale some edges. Then pushpull and do this over and over. Dozens, hundreds of times very rapidly. Until you have a boxy pproximation of a curvy shape (like a plane or space ship). Then once you have all the boxed made, you subdivide and smooth. So it is a very fast, repetitive process of pushpulling. having to delete each internal face is a major showstopper for this modeling method. This project is still on my mind. I am working on some groundbreaking UI stuff (well, sort of groundbreaking - someone else already beat me to the punch, but it might still be cool). Once I work out some stuff, this plugin might well be one I release in the next few weeks. Chris

Theres a plugin called SU animate that does just that, if you are willing to spend a few bucks. I'm currently looking for a different alternative for your problem, a way to assign a different transition time for each scene to make turns more "smooth". Finally theres Chris's camera recorder plugin where you can walk around corners and everywhere yourself, you need another program to convert the data export into a video file though.

@kxi system said: How about trying using labica's figure up model parts? They may not have any hair, but their still good. BTW you can also pose them. I'm starting to think that people around here haven't got a proper dose of manga&anime and too much american comics, a manga head should look like a normal persons head but with drawn facial features. hai there.. nice one KXI, i downloaded it. its great. but some how, i also finding like zando asking, a anime head...damn i just can't get the feel in 3d, can anyone help me?

This thread seems to deal with the same issue (amongst other things): http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14353&p=108605 It seems not, which is annoying. I'm going to see if Layout can do something for me.

Find ExtrudeEdgesByRails [or the whole EEby... tools zipped]. I'd make it in two mirrored halves as it looks symmetrical. Use 'weld.rb' to make part of the outline a single 'curve'. Repeat for the rest of the outline. Now you have two curves that can become 'rails'. Draw a third curve (perhaps a very flat arc) to for a profile. Use EEbyRails picking them as prompted [repeat pick on profile unless you want it to end slightly differently in which case make another curve/melding-profile... It should make a mesh of the surface. Then process it as needed - here's a visual clue... I know it's not the same shape but I did it as quick example for you...[image: ZEud_Untitled.png]

Thanks for your thoughts, as it goes the client pretty much removed most of the light from the scheme so all that trawling the net was a waste. Good job I didn't go ahead and buy one!!!

@gaieus said: Hi Henri and welcome! I have seen some really interesting and beautifully detailed clock (and watch) models made in SketchUp! It will be really interesting to see some nice examples from you, too, if you wish to share them. One tip already; a watch will obviously contain very tiny pieces. SketchUp has problems with creating faces that have edges at the scale around a millimetre so the general workaround is to model in a larger scale and only when finished, scale the model back to its normal size. Say it would be comfortable for you to model in millimetres at this scale. Instead, set your template to metres but work as usual - count the values as they were millimetres. This will result in a model scaled 1000:1 but in no time at the end you can easily scale it by 1/1000. (I also added you to the French usergroup so you can see and post in the French forum when you are logged in). @unknownuser said: Henri Salut et bienvenue! Blame the translator.

Well, this is also a plugin so everything that can be expected from plugins working slowly and poorly is valid here. An "own version" sound interesting! And no, I do not really work with much CAD geometry so I don't have particular examples but have seen (and experimented with) a bunch in the forums already.
