Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find a molten metal texture (preferably free), anyone know where I can find one.

What are you looking to texture? i think finding a single texture to do the job could be quite hard, but im sure theres something out there thats suitable.

That was mighty fast!!!

I have found a lava texture which i'm going to use for now. I have a project where we have a standing stone which will have a LED light running down it. There are two thoughts, one is to have the lights blue to match the underground river and the other is a molten metal effect to match the near by metal works.

I'm going to see how the lava goes, I'll post the results.

Hi,

I recently did a few material tests for molten metal manipulating a simulation scene in a render engine. A combination of textures and meshes. Just a test!!!!! and did not have enough time to render it fully as i was trying to get my head around some other settings, emmitters, global medium e.t.c.. Maybe it will give you a few ideas to achieve what you are after .............. or maybe not!

Thanks for your thoughts, as it goes the client pretty much removed most of the light from the scheme so all that trawling the net was a waste. Good job I didn't go ahead and buy one!!!
