I don't think that the kind of tablet is a problem. I use an old 12"x12" kurta, that can respond to a multi button mouse. My cad menu consist of a small drawing area, standard CAD functions, and a area for custom commands. My pointing device is a multi button pen. The system can be configured to replace a mouse with the pen for other programs, but I do not use it that way as the pen is harder to pick up then reaching for a mouse when switching from the keyboard.

@unknownuser said: If their axis is not aligned to the parent's axis though, it is also going to require computing x,y,z values. Rotating the parent will change their rotation AND their location. Chris, I missed this as it was just about when I made my last post. I'm not too concerned about the location of the children moving. I am more concerned about keeping the child on the same rotX,rotY,rotZ rotation as the top level model axis; by this I mean rotX,Y,Z all = 0 So I have two big issue with my setup right now. First is that this only works if my parent is a top level component/group. If someone places it inside of a group then I lose my bearings. If I know they need it inside a group I can setup a DC group that itself would pass information. So there would be a grandparent/parent/child setup. But I don't want to have to rely on this. My second problem is that my child can handle rotations on any axis, but it has trouble with more than one. So I'm ok if I change rotX, or rotY, but not rotX & rotY. I have attached a file with two instances of my component. One is top level one is inside of the group. So if you select all and rotate, only one will fix itself. And you have to use the interact tool or right click to REDRAW() for it to update. OK, I take that back. This is where things get odd. I base my calcualtsion off what I think the parents rotX,Y,Z are based on, and the odd things is a "REDRAW" by clicking on the interact while the parent is nested in a grandparent, doesn't give the same results as when I REDERAW when I have gone into the grandparent. rotation problem.skp

This may be similar to the Baxi system which I believe uses Ballard technology. The thing to note is that the BloomBox seems to be a co-generation system like the Baxi, in the sense it requires natural gas (or bio fuels)as co-gen power, so it's efficiency will likely be in the 70% range. Still a good step forward, but a long way to go. http://www.baxi-innotech.de/index.php?id=home&lang=1

Yes, exactly. You can always add to the GE terrain (although you may risk your model being rejected if you do this too excessively) but cannot "subtract" from the terrain. Or you can but as the GE terrain will be inevitably above it, you won't be able to see it. So the workaround is to add to your terrain, paint it with the colour GE snapshot and subtract from that piece down to the limit of the original terrain.

Thx to both of you. The plugin is working now and the tip from dedmin also works great. Never thought about doing it that way

From my experience, printing a 300 dpi A0 format takes ages. I would suggest to start with a 150 dpi A0 to reduce sizes and problems.

Hi folks. You will need to get some angles beside the length of the edges, otherwise your polygon will be undefined if it has more than 3 sides. To alleviate the need for angles, you can use triangulation. After dividing you lot in adjacent triangles, you can draw it using SU and a few tricks to draw triangles defined by 3 sides. These tricks avoids doing any calculations. Just ideas.

Ok thanks for the information - at least I know now it is not my fault which is usually the case. @tig said: OR... use my tool http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=HolePunchTool to add associated reveal geometry to a hole-cutting component... I'll check that out.

@arc said: And no need to use Match Photo, just set camera and check the menu camera-->two point perspective......then get your step6, right? Ummmm ..... Yes ...... ......... and ....... No ........ Two point perspective does seem to have the same 2D qualities when manipulated with same Hand/Zoom toolset. I hadn't appreciated that. But .......... unless I am missing something here ........ it limits you to two point perspective! The example I showed is far from two point ......... Match Photo works for any perspective ...... That said and done, I do often use two point perspective and this is a great shortcut for that situation. Thank you. David Mac

@ultimatez 32 said: FYI, the aircraft in the tutorial is a hawker hurricane Well, then the other one must be the AVG Curtiss P-40B of the Chinese Air Force? That link I have posted is just for some additional info on different approaches to modeling, that´s all. I would really like to see more of your work. I used to "hand-stitch" quite often, and it still works fine for me, at least on small surfaces. For a larger scale work, I prefer using plugins. Cheers!

http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=23725&hilit=+Whaat read this post for better uv mapping in SU. This is as good as it gets I'm afraid. But others use Blender to achieve desired results as it's uv mapping is highly recommended. I've no experience with Blender yet but intend to check it out soon. I feel your pain though
