I tell you my opinion. I have no doubt that you have talent. But I see only a few models that you can sell. The rest is very primitive. You have to make an impression with your models.

Sure, turn the window into a component. Now begin to move it (along the green or red axis). Then hold the shift button down. Now it will force inference to that axis so you can moveover to the other side of the house and align to the far window. Its that easy. Chris

If registry entries do not exist, Sketchup creates them. So if it crashes, it might have created the missing entries which you can then edit and restart Sketchup so that it can proceed in the installation process until it works. So it works! This makes me very lucky. If you like to use ruby scripts or plugins, you need to convert the text files from dos format to unix format. There is a terminal program. In the terminal, go to the Sketchup/Plugin folder using cd, and then run the command *dos2unix .rb for converting all ruby files in that folder.

Jean's method is quicker to make any 'lathed' form from scratch. However, if you already have the main shape, or perhaps the 'groove' is not to be a full 360 degrees, or perhaps not parallel to the main form's base etc, then the intersect method is often better...

So, five years later, SU's handling of toolbars still sucks. What exactly is it we're paying for if the devs ignore user issues with the most basic functionality?

@ThomThom: Not only see, but draw on them. As Chris's 3 lines tool allows. I am in modeling mode at this time, not doing any rendering, where your tool would be very useful.

If you can't set the scale on import then you can fix it afterwards... You can group the imported geometry [if not already grouped] and scale it manually... If you know exactly what size one object should be then edit the group and with the Tapemeasure Tool pick the two points on that object [might say 400mm in the VCB] and then immediately type in the correct size + <enter> [say 4mm] - you are then asked if you want to scale everything - say Yes... Everything inside the group is scaled [you can do the rescaling to the whole model but only use this IF there is nothing preexisting that was the right scale already...]
