Take a look at SpaceDesign from Render Plus. It should do everything you need. If it doesn't, let us know what we need to add. It is not free. But if you want a nice report with costs, extended costs, totals, etc. This is the tool for you. [image: 500px-Edit_attributes.jpg] [image: 500px-Sample_report.jpg]

Sorry to hear that. Well, I don't know what time it is there in Hungary, but it's 4:30 in the morning here and my old bones are aching. Have a good one.

@jean lemire said: As pointed out by others, if the cursor is over empty space, the Zoom tool will do close to nothing. Zooming with the mouse wheel over empty space makes it do large jumps.

Unfortunately I figured it out too late to save my dog. I will accept donations towards the lavish funeral I'm planning.

Hi, I don´t know if the following is even relevant, but since it is a curved surface, to make a hole in it, you´ll have to cut through the geometry - see here - http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=11222 Or you can use this http://www.smustard.com/script/BoolTools Some interesting solutions here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=28931&hilit=lattice

obviously no help to you but just in case a mac user wants to do this, sync these files: via - Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Google Sketchup 8 > SketchUp %(#BF0000)[plugins Components Tools Materials Styles] via User > Library > Application Support > Google Sketchup 8 > SketchUp %(#FF0000)[Shortcuts.plist Templates] via User > Library > Preferences com.google.sketchuppro8.plist [most of these are obvious as to what they will do and all of them aren't necessary.. the last one (com.google.etc) will sync toolbar positions, startup template, units, etc.]

Or draw a line tracing an edge line. This will also fill in the face and you don't need to delete the line after the face is created.

@meike said: There are many, many, many plug-in's and I wonder wich plug-in's are the best ? That is an entirely subjective judgement. But as you can see from this post - some plugins often reoccur when people are asked for what plugins they use the most: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=31957

@tig said: Try group.entities.add_instance(other_group.entities.parent, other_group.transformation*group.transformation) other_group.entities.parent.instances[1].material=other_group.material other_group.entities.parent.instances[1].layer=other_group.layer### you can also copy over other attributes of 'other_group' if appropriate other_group.erase! 'other_group' is 'cloned' into 'group.entities' and the original erased - here we also copy its material and layer... Thanks for this. Was useful. Of course, assigning names (variables) to each instance, makes copying layer straightforward; group2.layer = group1.layer

Very good Jean. I don't find the Solid tools all that useful for drawing joinery like that because they break the relationship of the components to the other instances in the model and it ends up creating more work for me. The Solid tools do come in handy for a lot of other things like creating the drawer fronts and the dovetail sockets for the drawer dividers in this bombé chest. [image: 5133746693_48a8c55a09_m.jpg]
