    • RE: Kerkythea Materials

      Nope, I'm not confused... πŸ˜„

It's only that my computer or Kerkythea is struggling to install the new library's !

And because I've nothing to do now: Does anyone known a good carbon-fibre texture... ? πŸ’š

I've tried several textures from Google-images, but with every texture I use, I got tiles or I have to stretch it....but then the texture is to wide/big for realistic texturing my component.

    • Kerkythea Materials

Probably I'm posting in the wrong subforum, but it's al about the materials I can download at the download section of KerkyThea's own website.

There are several choises of materials and models, for me it's important how to use the materials. Where do I have to place the zip-files in the sub-folders to use the materials in Kerkythea it selfs ? Or is it also possible to use all the materials in SketchUp, without the loss of qualtity instead of using the materials in Kerkythea ?

I just found out to use imported materials in SU as Unique textures, but I'm not sure about the quality of KT-materials exporting them to SU or to use original SU materials ?

      Hi,

Once model is imported in Kerkythea, go to view - adjust - solid rendering.
      Have a nice rendering time!

That's the first thing I always do... But I think it's probably somewhere in the settings for the photography..the render is doing well, I do anything with reflections, soft shadows and more, but the photo is unsharp and I have a lot of noise, aspeccialy around the edges, most of the faces are smooth, but also there's noise.

I'm back round 2 O'clock, then will I place an example what I mean.

    • RE: Recommendations for an Extreme Rendering Newbie?

      Hi guys,

I'm struggling with Kerkythea and the settings for the render. I tried a lot of possible solutions to get the noise away, but it's still there 😞

How do I get sharp and clean renders, without the noise ? It's really unsharp now, Kerkythea is now busy with another setting, I will upload an image when he's finished.

Is there somewhere a good tutorial for the settings, to render photo-realistic ?

Í used to work with Twilight the last weeks, but the plug-in is a trail version and the Twilight-banners inside my render are to annoying to make it a good render.

*Sorry, my English is worse and need a couple of lessons (or I had to stay longer on this site and don't visit the Dutch SU forum anymore πŸ˜„)

    • A new Visual Index ???

      Hello guys !

I have a small but important question. There are many, many, many plug-in's and I wonder wich plug-in's are the best ?

Almost every plug-in at the Visual Index topic, I already knew. My favourite
plug-in is Shape Bender ! Together with Soapskin-bubble. But now i'm curious to more special and usefull plug-in's. You guys are modeling for years (?) and maybe it's a good idea to make a second version of the Visual Index ?

I want to do it for my own, but I think there are people around here with more experience and a faster mind to understand new plug-in's (how to use them properly..)

Or do I ask to much right now ? πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Need help !! Want to create a car from blueprint

I found out that the Sirion 2 originally sold as Toyota Passo. And on that subject I found this:

      http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/toyota-passo-3d-model/433411

But this model is not free and it seems like this model is not that realistic..the rear lights are huuuge comparing with the real one.

    • Need help !! Want to create a car from blueprint

      Hey there,

I've an idea and I want to redraw a type of car, to show my idea to some people. But now there's a problem. I can't find the brand and model car I really want. Nor as Sketchup file, nor as other 3D model, like a .3ds file.

The car I searched for: Daihatsu Sirion 2:

      http://www.autoxperience.tv/filecontent/images/33590.jpg

Now I've tried to search and placed some blueprints of this car in SU, but I don't have the patience for this kind of work. And I don't have the right technicks to draw from a blueprint.

Is there somebody who can help me with the blueprint or do you know where I can find a 3D model of this car ?

    • RE: A Welcome Message to New SketchUcation Members

Hey, my name is Meike and from The Netherlands.

I'm new here and before I buy something (SketchUp Pro), I want some information. I'm already used to work with SketchUp7 (free edition, or f.e.) but I think there's so much more to know and to discover with the full edition. But I also want to follow some classes to learn everything the right way, because sometimes I stuck in my work with roundings and measurements.

      Some question's I have:

      • Can I export my drawings in SU 7 Pro, so that visitors on my webside can view them, and control them, without using SU itself. ?
      • I'm also looking for Cinema 4D. Is SU 7 Pro good enough to be a good choise, or is C4D better ?
      • Whem I'm using Sketchup 7 (f.e.) SU looks like a sort of cartoon 3D programme. Is it possible to show my 3D work on a higher resolution, almost the same quality as a render? Or another way / style that you prefer where SU looks more like a solid 3D program like C4D ?

With these questions I want to end now. If you want to react with a private message: Be my guest πŸ˜‰πŸ˜„
