Since SU2019 Pro the really rare BugSplashs of previous versions have become more often. There is always some reason why and most often it is an exeeding load factor of some kind. What really bothers me is that although settings provide 15 Min between save-mode there is no such file as AutoSave anymore to be found. Not on either volume that I work with. I very well notice the interruption of the work flow when it saves the file in the background between the set time lapses. But where and how ist the file saved? After a few hours of work that is a really frustrating to discover. The windows system provides alot of search modes. I have searched the whole system for *.tmp save Auto, recent skp and more. Well nothing that would suggest a recovery file. Since I work on a system with german language I am not sure if you can provide any help with the shown paths on the preference-settings. I remember vague the possible setting for the placement of AutoSave files. No such thing anymore. How do you set the path for that? Strange by all means is that sometimes the relaunch of the original .skp will provide an offer to jump to the newer file on the system which must be the saved version. But more often it wont provide this option. I feel very very uncomfartable with this uncertainty and it already pushes me into a crash anticipation mode when working on heavy files.
I would really appreciatate any help here.

      Michael

A couple of things come to mind directly.

When you installed SketchUp 2019, did you install it correctly? That is, did you find the downloaded installer, right click on it and choose Run as administrator from the context menu?

What is your graphics card and are its drivers up to date? Inadequate graphics cards such as integrated Intel graphics and their drivers are responsible for a large number of Bug Splats.

As for where backup files are saved, you might find this provides some useful information.

the installation has been without any problems, The graphics card is Nvidia GF T1080. All drivers are up to date!
Are You suggesting that there is a path missing in the pre settings?

The method of back ups and autosave changed. See the link Dave suggested as "this" https://forums.sketchup.com/t/sketchup-pro-2019-lets-talk-about-saving/88957

If you didn't right click on the installer and select Run as administrator, the installation is not done correctly and this could be the cause of your problems.

In v2019 the AutoSave files might now be found in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\SketchUp\SketchUp 2019\SketchUp\working\SKETCHUP\RecoveredFiles\It's a hidden folder by default, but you can get into it using that path in a Windows Explorer folder-path entry or setting folder-options to show hidden files/folders...

If you mean, how do you ensure SketchUp is properly install, then you can Repair it...
Whilst logged into Windows as your normal user-account, ensure SketchUp is closed.
Find the SketchUp installer's exe file - usually in your Downloads folder.
Select its icon, right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator"
When prompted choose "Repair" [for a new installation choose "Install"]
                    When it completes restart SketchUp...

Doing the repair should leave any customization as it is - e.g. installed Plugins.

All folder/file permissions should have been reset properly.
The one exception is any customized preferences - like LibFredo's - if these were made with bad permissions by an earlier badly installed SketchUp it can cause issues - there are separate instructions for this in that Extension's thread... you simply delete its prefs folder and SketchUp recreates it with proper permissions.

Installing SketchUp in any other way - e.g. by double-clicking its installer exe file to "Run" it will lead to all kinds of unexpected issues, often centering on bad file permissions and unsaved settings across sessions etc...
Having admin-powers is NOT the same as using "Run as administrator" on the installer's exe file.
