I do a lot of sketchy edge image exports at 3000 pixels wide. They do take longer than at lower resolution but I've never had them take 10 minutes. I haven't paid attention to the number of edges I've got but I suppose with that many, it might take longer. Try a little experiment with a model that seems to hang. Hide about half or more of the components/groups and do an export. Does it complete the task? I wonder if there is some sort of time out that would stop the export or cause it to hang.

Hi, I am experiencing similar problem even after I perform a selection only. It happens when I do a region select on part of a large mesh (say 25K faces). At the moment a finish region select operation (release left mouse button) SketchUp freezes for a few seconds and comes back with the selected portion smoothed with the current smoothing option. The smoothing can even be undone. It happens in all modes of selection (+, +-, or -). Triple select or Ctrl-A typically does not suffer from this. It is so annoying...

On a Mac, they are stored in a normally inaccessible folder. Here is how you find that folder quickly: Step 1: Click File/New (it doesn't matter what template this opens). Step 2: Click File/Save as Template. Step 3: In the dialog box that appears, enter any word you like in the "Name" space. Doesn't matter. Step 4: Now look at the "File Name" space below it. There is a magnifying glass icon to its right. Click on it. Step 5: The folder with all your saved customized templates appears. Step 6: From this folder, you can drag old templates to the trash, add new ones, or do as you please. It's that simple.

My experience is that HQ renders take a long time to cook. Vue does not give you free render nodes if you wanted to distribute rendering to other computers. Vray does allow you to render on up to 10 machines for no extra cost. I guess it depends on how much of work is landscape related. If you are mainly rendering interior and exterior architecture, my personal advice is that Vray is the best plugin for this.

Like Dave, I don't know how you drew your wall, but you appear not to have paid close attention to the inference engine while doing so. Many of the stray lines you see can simply be erased which unifies the adjacent faces. But there are several places where points are slightly out of plane with each other, requiring surfaces to be triangulated instead of a single plane. The attached screenshot is an extreme zoom of the area just above the upper left window. You can see that things are not aligned. [image: toQZ_ScreenShot2015-04-14at8.38.03AM.png]

While I do not know what may have caused your issue either, a restore-install may help - or if not, a complete uninstall-reinstall. Ideally your licensing info should remain but you can always re-license your copy with the code sent to you by email (and yes, you can always re-use that license as long as it is still valid - for student licenses, generally for one academic year or what).

Sorry I'm on here late, guys! It's just that this is a really, really awesome find! While I'm looking to buy property, I planned on doing some redesigning of the place (my business) to better accommodate the mood/image of the company. I'm not much of a 3D designer (still learning sketchup and cad), but I've got some people helping me out. Hopefully these textures will give them the spark of inspiration they're looking for. Either way, thanks for sharing. I'm certain these textures will assist "bringing the overall room design" together. Sometimes floors or wall colors can really complete a room...y'know? Thanks, guys! =D

Thanks Alan. I have pretty good Photoshop skills and for a while was active on an indie game forum where I started a "Texture a Day" thread. I like creating textures but my 3D skills are lacking. It seems more jobs require 3D modeling and texture design using 3D and not a lot of call for Photoshop alone. I really want to get competent with modeling asap as I would like to do some side jobs. I may take some classes if I can swing it. This thread at conceptart.org is what made me look at SketchUp http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=173014 and I have since found an increasing number of concept artists using it for game, animation and even comic books which are areas that appeal to me.

Move the tool with the left mouse button pressed up and down the screen to see if it comes back. yea men iam useing zoom tool with shift and its ok now reall thx men

No - neither the Ansi Γ€ or the Multi-byte Γ€ can be used in a DC attribute name. I got off track a bit on this post. The to_ansi() function is useful when dealing with Umlauts and/or accents which are converted from ANSI/Extender ASCII to Multi-Byte automatically by Ruby or SketchUp. But still doesn't solve the original problem. I will be interested to see if it help with Web Dialogs or other problems.

marlinstudios.com has some samples for each of its collections. There are also a few on this site by an artist called fusebulb who has some for pay collections on TurboSquid http://www.sharecg.com/v/7521/Texture/High-resolution-bush-map-with-alpha-in-TGA-format I haven't tried these in 3D but I did use them to do a quick test image in Photoshop.
