You could try switching on colour by layer in the layers box. I would avoid bringing in hatches at all however as they will clog up your model and make it very slow. It's better to bring in a simple line drawing and shade it in Sketchup. A quick way to fill faces is the 'make faces' plug in (http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeFaces).

It's controlled by the Styles dialog because it's part of the style as is X-ray, Back Edges, Monochrome, etc.

Hi ! Good thing(or bad) is that this model was made for 3d printing, and the ropes will be added in reality . Anyway I saved a smooth model of it and I added some ropes over the geometry, in order to get a render too . [image: rNxo_HyperionforrenderingbyEliseiDesign.jpg] Another killer : I had to create the subframe of this . Imagine all the intersections and small faces and make it solid too !! [image: JOHc_CatwalkHyperionbyEliseiDesign.jpg] The frame is very heavy , I hope my PC will handle both, the balloon(plus gondola) and the frame. Take care !

@gaieus said: By sharing a model, you acknowledge any "derivated" versions shared by anyone else in the 3DWH. Now what "derivative" is, can be, of course a matter of discussion but keep one thing in mind: Google wants these models to be accessible to the widest variety of users. They (as a corporation) do not give the slightest shit who shared the model (first). You, by sharing it, give right to others to use (and modify and re-publish etc.) your model. That's it. Read the TOS. If you do not want these dudes to do so, you have the option to control who can downloadthe model at all... agree with you. if you dont wanna share your model but just to notice people that you are the modeller. you could "tick" the box of "only you and contributors could download the file". i'm doing this for some particulars models that i made. strange thing is... there were several models i have intended to share but google have problems to accept model which more than 15MB. that's my only problem. beside, if you just wanna show off your model [not to share it] you'll have interesting message on your "comments" on the model. people who share should willing to accept any kind of action in regard of his/her model. i'm the first modeller who made new-honda jazz [basic model] and gratefully somebody from Phillipines improve. that's how it works on 3d WH. don't you think its akind of childish to complain like that?

You are seeing the route you should at least test. Try this on a cube to see what happens. Don't use colours as these are not textures as I mentioned already. If when you export a cube and things still have errors holla back.

Well, taking photos is definitely the best way to satisfy Google. (And yes, my first "real" project was a Turkish mosque in town and I only learned of components later - how much easier it would have been!)

Not sure if my last reply was posted. Cotty thanks for the help... I can't beleive I've never used that tool before. I always thought it was to align an object to axes or another object. Thanks again Joe

Sure. Make copies to try various ways. It seems likely that you have the items in groups. If so explode and intersect them and delete extra entities. Try editing with attention to inferencing to govern entity creation and editing. If you post a model someone can be more specific, rather than making very general guesses.

So I had a change of plan and I'm going to create a sort of a small scale golf course. What's the best way to raise up and lower the sand beds? Ideally I want a whole mesh so I can fine tune it how I want in the end. I guess for the sand beds it would be better to make geometry lines and use from contours, but i guess that will result in a separate mesh right? [image: Y5op_Fullscreencapture22062012022035.bmp.jpg] Something like the result i want. [image: Ground-For-Golf-Courses.jpg]
