Does that mean you've solved your problem? Why don't you edit your profile and add your OS and SketchUp version?

You can't access most of the Dimension's properties in Ruby API code. Its 'text' is one of those that's inaccessible - so it's not achievable 'in code' either You could write yourself a new 'PeteDimension' object in code which would do this... BUT it'd be so convoluted that it'd not be cost/time effective... Manual edit keeping the true dim with '<>' plus your new text is the only sensible way, I'm afraid...

@pbacot said: You'll want to give those thickness with Joint Push-Pull ruby or Perhaps shell ruby. thanks pbacot, I tried joint/push pull but it left little wedges in between each surface. But I plan to layout each 1/4" cut for the laser cutter in Revit so it'll be fine for it's purpose then I'll be able to get each layer's shape. Thanks for the tips! Lorne

I tend to use http://www.last.fm You can search for an artist or genre etc and it will give you a bunch of similar stuff. Works well to keep you floating in a comfortably numb way but allows you to find new music that fits your mood. No real need for most users to log in.

Indeed, it's not good having the KT program folder inside the SU plugin. That's how usually the folders look like plugin folder (the path.txt file should be created automatically the first time you run su2kt and ask you where the kerkythea.exe file is located) [image: 4Lr0_senzatitolo1.jpg] application folder [image: kJ2r_senzatitolo2.jpg]

Thank you for your great ideas. I will try every suggested solution and inform you which fits best for me. @pbacot: You understood perfectly what I wanted. This is the wished output. Thank you! @alvis: Thank you for the Artisan hint. I will give it a try. Thank you all for your help.

Hi Scott, It is completely indifferent, what layer you place things on (unless you set to "Colour by Layer). The difference lies in whether you paint the group/component as a whole, from "outside" - or paint its geometry "inside" (while editing it). Incidentally, I have a little tutorial on this here: http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/37-beginner/139-texturing-a-component-vs-its-faces-inside Now if you cannot see the grouped object receiving the material (if I understand you correctly), you may be modelling in monochrome mode. You should go to model in shaded or better shaded with textures mode (View menu > Face styles). If still no materials, there must be something wrong with your system.

Thanx Chris. I've been playing around with the shift key and it does work...sometimes. I've even gotten the control key to manipulate the poly lines...sometimes. I just can't nail down which plane they work on.Thanx again. unclegreg

But the typical workflow is to first select what you want to move, then move it. Quite often you would not want the move tool to move everything connected all at once.

Thank you TIG. I didn't think there was a way to hide the menu. But it wouldn't be the first time I missed something right in front of my face. Ken

If your scaling is 'natural' for a Dynamic component, then you can use FredoScale, which does not activate the Dynamic attributes of the components. Fredo
