Create scenes for each wall elevation, use align view, parallel projection, section planes etc, or any other setup you want, then print the scenes.

I've now solved the problem, which was due to corrupt preferences. The solution procedure was as follows: Close SketchUp. Open a Finder window. Click Go in the top menu bar, press and hold the Option key, then click Library when it appears in the list. Click Preferences. Click and drag the file com.sketchup.sketchup.plist to Trash. Launch SketchUp.

Note the yellow did not detect at all. If this was redone in black and white the results would be much better??. Will try again tomorrow.[image: HLpJ_logo2.jpg]logo_mns2.dxf

This has indeed been covered before but unles you knew what to look for, it would be hard to find. The problem is the components you are making are geo-located. Don't do that and they'll behave correctly.

If it is all loose geometry, triple click on it to select everything, right click and select soften/smooth, then adjust the slider to smooth the edges.

The native move toll will do that also. If you start move and then input [x,y,z] it will move absolute, <x,y,z> is locale relative move, [,,z] you keep x,y same and move in z , etc

@jmrome said: It's working now!!! I uninstalled sketchup 2013 and deleted also aal the preferences, now I have sketchup 2008 and that works perfectly since you've deleted the .plists (which is required for a true uninstall) you'll be able to update to any version of sketchup now you shouldn't see this problem again.

Hi Dave, thanks for responding - I think I have found (part of) my problem, scaling. The original was quite small (about 4cm across), so I scaled up by a factor of 10 and then 100. I then played with the offset parameter in the RoundCorner extension, and by reducing it I seem to avoid deleting faces. Appreciate you taking the time to offer help - I'm sure I'll be back!

Hi again I did a new clean install of sketchup, and that seems to have done the trick I have tried 2 different files, and both came out with the right type of lines. I don't know if it was setting that was wrong, that was reset in the new installation, or something went wrong after the first install. @mitcorb, I tried different styles, and after setting the line type to 1 in some of the styles, the line got thinner, but it was still not the correct linetype in AutoCad, but thank you for your answer @CHARLIE__V, I tried all different line types in the option, but that did'nt help. Thank you for your reply.

It sure is easier with the help of everyone here. My Thanks ... again. I tried for hours to make the threaded end of a fitting, but am stuck with this (see attached). Eventually. As Chief Dan George was told by Teddy Roosevelt, "Endeavor to persevere". By the way, thanks for the unique pipe work, Box. I'll try follow me again. :green_heart: Another question, another post. open a new post and I explain better. [image: a7vJ_1.png] [image: 2liX_2.png] [image: NMoq_3.png]

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. In the first scene we are also saving the hidden geometry...Normally we don't use hide for anything other than a working tool, but the dialog box seemed like this could be done. Normally we use layers to manage visibility across scenes but in this case the element we are trying to turn off is already on a layer that we are managing the visibility of in other scenes and we didn't want to have to go back and update all scenes...was just wondering if there was a trick to getting an individual scene to save the hidden geometry as the dialog box seems to suggest is possible. Will just add the layers and update all the scenes. Thanks! Chad

It's pretty simple when you know how but confusing to begin with, rather than me writing it all have a look at this thread which gives instructions. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=35746

It's not to do with resolution; I am running a pair of Thunderbolt displays at 2560 x 1440 each If you look at the screenshot you can see that the OS is anti-alising very well. I was running SU on the built in display before getting the TB displays and it was running very smoothly, with some small issues with tiny snap points and tool tips. I attached a screenshot of the built in display. Interestingly LayOut looks fine! [image: Cxd4_ScreenShot2014-01-14at06.37.46.png]
