      Hello everybody

I have SU 8 Pro (the latest M3 updated) and I am quite happy with it. I have seen the new features of SU 2013 Pro. I am not a person who uses Lay-out a lot. In that case is it really worth upgrading to 2013? Or have I missed looking at some very important new features which make 2013 a very great upgrade from SU 8? I have downloaded the trial version - personally I do not see any compelling reasons. What would you advise?

      Thanks in advance.

if you upgrade now it includes the 2014 upgrade (1 year support from date of purchase), if you upgrade later, ..... you may be asked to pay more? does anyone knows?

Wonder if they will release 2014 at Basecamp?

When 2013 was released, Trimble announced that those upgrading from SU8 to SU2013 would pay the reduced upgrade price; if you didn't upgrade from SU8, and in the future decided to upgrade to later versions (SU2014 or SU2015, for instance), you'd pay the full price.

I believe they also made some changes in the programming that aren't readily apparent to the user. Also, some of the icons in the toolbars, and the layout of the toolbars, have changed and take some getting used to.

I upgraded to 2013 to take advantage of the reduced upgrade cost, but learned on a very large model, the shadows do not work (memory problem, I assume - I got the endless blue circle); but they worked on the same model in SU8.

                My avatar is an anachronism.

Its a pretty normal upgrade strategy.

As long as you can get good use out of your upgrade fee it's completely fair.

No. If you skip upgrading for one year, you would have to pay an upgrade cost of $95, plus a reinstatement fee. We will update this FAQ as soon as we know more about specific costs."

but still this weird sentence about a "reinstatement fee" and no precise numbers... πŸ˜† πŸ˜’

Have they announced the new bugs that will be added?
