    Hi all,

Newbie here, in the steep part of the learning curve and rather out of my depth at the moment. I have a problem that when I use the extension RoundCorner on my model, it causes 2 of the 4 main faces of my model to vanish (so the model is no longer solid). I suspect the problem may be deeper, and related to other issues.

The model is a series of curves, which I originally created in sketchup in 2D mode (Camera parallel projection, Top view). I joined together a straight line with curves at each end, then switched to 3D view and drew a rectangle in the vertical plane. I then used the FollowMe tool to extend that rectangle along the drawn line of the model. It worked to create a 3D model, but Solid Inspector said the model was not solid. I fixed these as best I could (Solid Inspector says its OK, or rather doesn't say anything when I run it now), but when I run the RoundCorner extension I lose 2 opposite faces of the four main faces in my model. I can't figure out why it is doing this, and would appreciate any pointers.

In addition, if I select the whole model and run Tools>Outer Shell, it pops up a warning box saying that "One or more of the selected objects is either not a solid or is locked". I tried Edit>Unlock, and it didn't make any difference - so I suspect that somewhere I have an open edge or something confounding the model. I know I have an internal structure that I don't need, but cannot remove.

I've been googling for hours, with no luck. I would be most grateful if someone could give me some pointers

How big is this geometry that you are trying to draw and how big are the roundovers? It would really be more helpful if you'd post the SKP file so we can see exactly what is going on.

Hi Dave, thanks for responding - I think I have found (part of) my problem, scaling. The original was quite small (about 4cm across), so I scaled up by a factor of 10 and then 100. I then played with the offset parameter in the RoundCorner extension, and by reducing it I seem to avoid deleting faces. Appreciate you taking the time to offer help - I'm sure I'll be back!
