    • Poor quality Layout pattern fill

      Hi,

I'm using Layout pattern fill for hatching cross sections within Layout. Whilst this looks fine in Layout, when exporting as pdf the pattern fill linework becomes broken and wiggly, giving a poor quality appearance (see diagonal hatching on top of walls on section cuts in attached file).

I have all quality settings turned on high in SU and LO. I've also tried all permutations of settings in Bluebeam, my pdf viewer.

The problem occurs when viewing on Bluebeam, Acrobat and Mac Preview and prints are also affected. However, when viewed on an iPad the drawings are perfect! It seems as if the quality is there, but there's a viewing problem with pdf output.

Any solutions would be gratefully received as the drawings don't look professional as they are.

      Cheers

      David

    • Using fog with hybrid render

I've used fog to hide backgrounds in scenes exported to Layout. This appears fine with raster render in LO but in Hybrid (which I need to use for the quality) the line work is not hidden, just the faces.

I've read that only vector render should be a problem with fog and that raster/hybrid should be ok. However, not the case for me....on the line work anyway. I'm using completely plain edges in the SU style. I tried adding a 1pt profile but no change.

Any ideas of what I can do to get the line work fogged out in hybrid?

      Many thanks

    • RE: Materials browser won't open

I've now solved the problem, which was due to corrupt preferences. The solution procedure was as follows:

      1. Close SketchUp.
      2. Open a Finder window.
      3. Click Go in the top menu bar, press and hold the Option key, then click Library when it appears in the list.
      4. Click Preferences.
      5. Click and drag the file com.sketchup.sketchup.plist to Trash.
      6. Launch SketchUp.

    • Materials browser won't open

      Hi,

I've been using SUPro 2013 on Mac for a couple of months. The materials browser used to open when clicking paint bucket but now does not. I have to open it manually from the Window menu after clicking the paint bucket, which is slow and not as it should be.

I've tried clicking reset workspace/show dialogs etc but no success.

Any ideas on a solution would be appreciated.

      Thanks

      David
