Yes I agree, but although I consider it essential I suspect that the devs do not. With the average user in mind I don't think subD is something they will ever need or even be on their radar. Even if you only look at professionals working mostly on architectural projects, subD or Artisan won't come in useful - unless you need to subdivide faces for displacement (now that function should deffinately be an essential part of the sandbox toolset).

@tommyk said: Those are nice tools. Thank you for the tip. I also didn't think about the benefits of being able to draw tangents. All of that said, the plugins don't have the quick and clean feel of the theoretical circle guide that I had in mind. I use Sketchup because I find it a highly productive (quick) tool for modelling. I'll have a look into the Ruby API and see if what I want can be provided as a plugin... Welcome to polygonal drawing, forget about geometry with the circle. Workaround, workaround.

That rectangle you see is because the trasparent material applied arround the label is a different color than the transparency of the label. Make them the same and you shouldn't see the edges.

Yea, I have had that thought before. And that is partly why I asked those questions. However, I have more or less accepted that my security system: firewall, antivirus and antispy ware are operating.

Do you mean you aren't seeing the components inside your nested component when you look in the Components window? If so, did you click on Expand in the Components menu? [image: LwCN_Screenshot-3_2_201411_36_33AM.png] [image: UDwU_Screenshot-3_2_201411_37_36AM.png]

I wasn't aware it was fixed but I see that check mark now. I wonder if the suggestion to reset the toolbars was the fix.

Eric et al: Why are you modelling the dog-bone fillets? Doesn't the CNC software takes care of this? I don't know why I didn't raise this question earlier, but I recall at school when we used the CNC machine we set up the tool paths for the machine to follow - but never modelled the end resulting dog-bone fillets.

Hi: I would say that Tak2hata is a very responsive author to suggestions such as "maintain camera height" and, if you post in the plugin thread, he may respond. Disregard this comment if you have already posted there.

If you're importing CAD data, explode the whole plan - including all blocks - and regroup it. The clipping plane is also dependent on the field of view. Use a higher focal length to get closer (zoom). (i have FOV assigned to "V" to be able to change it dynamically)

If you mean Torus by Regular Polygon which you will find here http://regularpolygon.org/plugins/torus.php then it is a .rbs not a .rbz so when you dropped it in the plugin folder it installed, but you didn't restart sketchup, which it clearly tells you to do in the installation instructions, before you looked for it so you didn't think it worked. Then after fiddling about with the permissions you tried to make a .rbs install as if it was a .rbz again which naturally failed but coincidentally you had restarted sketchup so the Torus plugin had finished installing and appeared in the draw menu. Why don't you try installing the Sketchucation plugin store, available from the top of the page, this is a .rbz and once installed it will allow you to auto install many many plugins, including Torus without needing to know what the file type is. Once you get that to work I imagine you will be heading over to the other thread to clear up any misconceptions about the quality of the balls on the lying chickenshits who have been patiently attempting to help you sort things out.

The behavior of the COPIES attribute failing to also copy the Layer would be considered a bug in Dynamic Components.

No. Use four or more Scene tabs and toggle between them. You can have different view, layers etc for any of those tabs... Much more flexible...

Better yet: this http://www.amazon.com/XK-24-USB-Programmable-Keypad-Windows/dp/B003MB780E I've had the 60-key version directly from P. I. Engineering for a long time and you make your own macros or use your SU shortcuts. VERY handy. Also for use in any other program.
