Yep. It sounds like you downloaded the wrong version. The 32-bit version will help.

Hi, It's been a minute, I know, but I still have the Move2Elev plugin if you want to give it a try. But I believe there are many other plugins that can be used instead. Perhaps vertex tools or something with "align" in name. I don't remember exactly how this one works. Here it is: [mod=:1ve79dnz]File removed. because the author hasn't authorized redistribution.[/mod:1ve79dnz]

@jql said: I usually use groups/components for this. If you set the axis inside a group or a component it will never revert to the original position again until you change it back or explode and regroup it. You can have as many axis as there are groups and they are independent from scenes and they are being used on the fly as you're jumping from group to another group editing stuff. This is way better than Ortho ON as this is multiple intelligent and context sensitive user driven ortho on the fly. +1

There are plenty of ways to do this. This one just crossed my mind first. Draw a polyline with Bezier curves. Draw a tube on that polyline with Pipe along a path. Scale down some of the sections and create a surface between them with Curviloft. The use round corner at the ends. Then play with the scale tool or FFD to achieve the desired result. As for the other indents, just create some shapes that resembles them and intersect them with the body of the bottle. bottle details.skp [image: LRn2_bottledetails.jpg]

One of the first things you should do with SketchUp is pee in the corners. Make it your own. Create your own template. I always use a white background when drawing. I set up the style as shown in the screen shot for my default style and because I need to work in fractional inches, I set units that way. Then I saved a blank file as my default template. Let me reinforce what Dave has said: using inferencing effectively is one of the most valuable and essential SketchUp skills you can learn. You'd be surprised how many defective models get submitted for help when something won't work because elements of the drawing are subtly out of alignment. This problem is almost without exception the result of not using inference properly!

For this specific piece no need a scanner! Just draw around and inside with a pencil sharp pointed very well on a transparent tracing paper Put this paper on your screen! You can redraw your form under it with sketchup and your mouse! That's all!

The process has always been select the component, start the plugin, select the straight line, select the curve.

Well I paint the faces not the wrapper always. I found that it occurs when I use the pain bucket inside the group and don't move the texture. Then when I ungroup it changes, and the faces that i have manually positioned the texture stay correct. It is not a huge problem but makes me ungroup before texture it. I have to change to 2015 anyway. Thanks for the reply Dave.

Thank you for your quick replies. It looks like the issue is tied to the particular machine I am using. The method I use to try and hide the leader is to right click the text and then select entity properties. From that dialog box I then change the leader from pushpin to hidden. When I select that the entire text object disappears. It also does not look hidden as I have tried using Edit->Unhide->All and also View->hidden geometry. Another interesting point is that I am using an add-in call Comp2Scene/Layer. This add-in is able to create a text object with an invisible leader! I also noticed that if I create a leadered text object and then delete the object I can hide the leader without affecting the text part.

@tim said: @slbaumgartner said: I don't have an explanation for you problem, but it is extremely unlikely this is the cause. Computers don't take more time to do arithmetic based on the value of the numbers. Sure they do. Just exceed the integer range of a typical CPU word-size and watch things take longer. Assuming of course you're using a sensible language that can handle arbitrary length integers. If not, it will take a really long time since you'll crash! And no, floating point is not a proper solution in many cases. I was trying to keep it simple. While you are technically correct, your reply is also irrelevant. What makes you think that SketchUp uses any sort of variable-length numeric representations?

It could be that you're using perspective and exporting as 2D graphic. Try exporting as a 3D model DWG, or using parallel projection (under camera) before exporting as a 2D graphic

There are many reasons to keep more than one version of an application. I agree, +1 for changing the icon. Seems like a rookie oversight for a software development company. Having to make your own icon or hide a shortcut is just silly.

Sorry...made a mistake and can't edit.... As I was trying to say I do use the drape method depending on how clean the CAD is. Often I find it easier to hand trace small jobs and offset the curbs sidewalks etc. But from time to time when I have to mass up a lot of buildings I will drop the CAD onto the surface.
